Stopped in a layby to take a piss today. Left the engine running. As I got back in my knee clipped something around the ignition key area - either the key itself or the little release button.

Anyway on impact there was a split second high pitch beep noise which I thought was odd. On pulling away though I noticed I had no power steering & the speedo needle was dead (the rest of the dash was working.) I pulled over and switched off thinking a fuse must have gone or summat, but nope. So I start her up again & all is hunky-dory..?

Any thoughts?

That has happened with me too a few times. Have not still managed to find out what the reason is. But I have noticed that when this happens, once you hit 30mph or so, it all comes back..

when a zed wants to do something it just does it lol we have no control.

I do remember reading on here about the speedo not working at times. So its got to be a problem that does come up but very rarely. Perhaps the wiring for this has got a dodgy connection somewhere..

My zed did this once, it turned out to be the earth not tight enough on the battery terminal.

Hmm..That probably is an issue with mine too as the battery I've got in mine is quite big and the negative wire to go on the battery is very slightly shorter for it to fully sit on the terminal. It is sitting half way on the negative terminal and I've got a screw on it to prevent it coming off..But perhaps that is why I get that. Will get that done..

Thanks for sharing that Leigh..:)
