hi

does anyone know how to remove the connector from the coilpack when they have become so hard and brittle that the little "push here" bit just snaps off ?

I had the same problem recently when changing spark plugs, the top bit broke off, i used a small screwdriver to push into the slot and push back the clip.

That worked ?? I tried a small screwdriver pushed into the slots, also tried a thin nail into both slots and still wouldn´t budge...but if it worked for you then I shall give it another go. Cheers BlueNik

Everyone of mine has snapped and are in a bad way but the shape of the wiring still holds them in place and car runs fine.

apparently some of them just slide off and some have a small "push here" bit to remove them mate

if your thinking of changing the connectors the lambda sockets from various nissans are the same fitting just make sure you correctly wire the plugs or youll burn out your coils,,,its a cheap repair that way as i bought all 6 for a fiver from my local scrapyard..oh and do solder the connectors as mine had been changed before i purchased my z and was connected with crimps(doh)

I was contemplating buying new connectors mate, good tip there with the Lambda sockets, definately worth looking into. Defo solder them...not too keen on crimping wires together anyway, looks untidy.

cheers

Cheers for that Dave, looks very interesting :) did they ever get back to you and quote the international shipping rate ?

Yes they did, but considering it was $62.85 shipped to the UK, and that was 5 years ago, it could be a bit more expensive now.

He's a nice friendly bloke, as I recall, and very helpful

received the connectors from Boost Pro and changed them today. Perfect and highly recommendable, way better than splicing cables and sooooo easy to do.
