In total shock, just bumped into a very good friend of ours and they just told me that his brothers daughter who had just turned 18 has been murdered yesterday!! she had gone on a date with this guy twice over the last month and on her way home yesterday he followed her home and killed her :cry:

 

She was a stunning looking girl who had just been accepted into 3 different universities and had her whole life ahead of her.

 

Whats with it with people nowadays??

This country is getting more and more violent, it's a worrying feature of the world we now live in. God knows what our kids are grandkids will have to face in 20 and 40 years time, cos this just aint getting any better.

 

My thoughts are with her family. Can't imagine what they must be going through right now.

It has happened since forever but I do not agree with so called government and police statistics, that violent crime is on the decline. I watch the national evening news religiously and it does not support their stats.

 

We DO live in a much violent society than 30 or 40 years ago.

Thats awful mate, those type of people should be locked away and never be released, i dont care about rehabilitation, if you take a life then the rest of yours should be in a cell in solitory, much worse than the death sentance.

Sorry to hear about the murder. I still think the gov should bring hanging back for crimes like this. With the hi-tech things and DNA samples i'm sure the crime would go down.

You can tell this sort of thing is much more prevalent than years ago as no-one has said they've heard about this on radio/TV- i.e. it's no longer a major news story. violence in society is more prevalent than previously & particularly gratuitous, unprovoked violence.

My 16 year ols cousin was beaten to death when he was walking home form picking his GCSE results by a 17 year old who wanted to show off his to his mates. I know what you and the girls family are going through and it is so horrific and senseless it cant be put into words. I know nothing we say will help the pain and even though it isn't true time is a healer you do get used to it and learn to live with it.

 

Its just a sad portrayl of this world that people have to learn to live with such pain.

Rip shocking. My sisters bf, father of my niece was badly beaten last Saturday night outside a bar for no reason at all, he was left for dead and almost killed, they beat him with a poll and a bottle. He was left unconscious outside for 20mins while a passer by helped revive him.

 

We have seen the cctv footage and there was no reason for all of it, i think we know who they are too.

 

What has the world come to.
