Hi all,

Now - I'm sure that I'm not the only person that reads about offsets in posts but hasn't a clue what they are or refer to :confused:

 

In reasonably plain English, can someone explain what offsets are and what they do, with photos preferably. :D

Hope this helps. Fig 1, Offset refers to the distance from the center line of the wheel to the mating face. PCD Fig 2, Bore Fig 3.

I was wondering this too, had an idea but that has just cleared it up for me...

 

So if i wanted to have a +12 off set i would need a 12mm spacer?

Neil, most wheels already have some degree of offset, plus or minus, you need to take this in too account before you choose your spacers.

Ah ha i see, so lets say I was getting a set of 18 x 8 front and 18 x 9 rear both with an offset of +38, would 20mm spacers on the front be alright?
