every now and then i get a bit of smoke from cold start up, im assuming this could be leakin valve seals, are these an easy job????

could it be anything else, i havent changed the oil for over a year (although only done 5000 miles of short journeys), could this help????

cheers

How much are you using it alan, if its sits for a while, the oil seeps into the zorsts, give it a good drive and it should clear it.

You really need to change your oil more frequently. Even though you're not doing much mileage, short journeys can wreck an engine. I am sure that over the course of the year, the oil has absorbed quite a bit of engine condensate.

No, probably not. You may just have a bit of oily residue in the inlet. Could be from the PCVs, could be from the turbos or could be from valve stem oil seals.

If I remeber you are only doing short trips in it though?

Congratulations Sherlock! ;)

your car needs a good motorway canning or a hour or two run mate to push and burn the short run shite out the induction system;)
