Guys,

I was thinking of getting either some R33 or R34 calipers and then get some discs and pads from EBC (links below)

I actually have EBC/Red stuff all round at the mo (standard size discs), but with stock calipers.

If i went to 324mm discs on the front, but kept the original setup on the rear will this be ok with ABS, only ive heard when people go too large on the front it screws it all up?

I see now EBC are selling red stuff as standard and yellow stuff as an upgrade...isnt yellow stuff only for track use though, thought they took too long to warm up?

Actually one of the links doesnt work properly, click "search again" and you can generate spec/prices

Personally Dan had no problems whatsever with that set up on my own zed and of all the owners on here who have done that particluar mod have not seen any post actually suggesting any different.

Jeff TT

EBC had a shake up of their pad material spec. a couple of years back and slowly it has filtered through to what they suggest is normal and what is track etc. now based on the feedback from testing by themselves and end users.

Thanks Jeff, do you need anything else to get the setup working at all or are they a direct replacement?

Have you tried yellow stuff pads...they ok for road?

They are a direct fit, well sort of, the backplate dirt cover needs bending back so its clear of the new larger disc and you will also need the bolts that come with the Brembo calipers as they are specific to the caliper threads.

Sorry have no direct experience of the yellow stuff pads.

Jeff TT

I have rear Brembo`s too and they look the same as the Nissan one`s (but have Brembo on of course ) and yes are a direct fit and even use the same brake pad as original, oh and the brake pipe threads are all the same so yes your braided hoses will fit as did mine :D

i think the discs are very similar in size on the rear as well arent they...somin like 5mm difference...reckon i could get away with keeping my existing EBC discs/pads on rear then?

Yes certainly keep the EBC disc and pads set up you have they will fit fine.

Hi Jeff, tried to get you at work today but think you were quite busy.

Im looking at picking up a set of gold brembos (front/rear) from an R34.

I might buy a set of bigger 324mm EBC discs and red stuff pads to match for the front....but leave the rears in as you advised.

How much would you charge to do this and also that bush work we talked about....is it doable on a Sat if i waited and got there early?

PMM me if its easier i know your busy.

Cheers

Dan
