Took the Zed to my garage ( Tesco`s covered car park ! ) to try to change the front pads but failed at the first hurdle . I couldn`t loosen the large " nut " in the centre of the Rays VolkRacing wheels . Tried a bit of tapping but didn`t wanna damage it . Is there anywhere I can get a tool for this ?

i have the same wheels and i use a oil filter chain wrench or cut a piece of plywood to fit the 2 sides of the nut and just turn:)

Good thinking !

I'd wrap some rag around it first!

I did have the Rays tool but sold it with my old wheels.

Ive got the original rays spanner, but will go with my set of wheels, however if you need to get one made, i can trace / draw the size of it to help out, take the template to a metal fabricator and get some metal welded to shape.

Many thanks , Stu . However , where I live , metal fabricators are not exactly commonplace , I fear .

maybe use one of those grips with the rubber band that raps around the nut and back into itself, think they were called crocodile grips or something like that

How wide is the nut mate? You can pick up the spanners for the off the well know auction site. I do have a 65mm one going spare if it will fit?
