I will hopfully be looking into some new parts for the z soon:

-Driftworks Hicas Eliminator Kit with hicas blocked off

-Spring and dampers

-Adjustable front tension rods

-New Front and rear discs, pads and hoses (Standard size EBC?)

-New tyres all round

But i need some advice on the springs and dampers part,

What other bits do i need to go abit lower?, 30mm is ok for me, doesnt need to be adjustable.

And would Stiffer anti-roll bars be a major difference over standard?

Im on a budget so i dont need to know about the over the top mods

i pm'ed him, but no reply yet, what are ARB's?

Im looking at getting KYB/AGX with Tein S-tech springs,

How would these stack up to the tein superstreets?

And just to clear this up, the only other parts i would need to drop the suspension are the ajustable top arms, front and rear?

ARB=anti roll bar.

they wont be as stiff as coilovers. More comfortable ride.

yeah front and rear camber arms u will need.

ARB's are anti roll bars. you might as well get the front tension rods as well as the adjustable upper arms then you a have fully adjustable sutup available.

going to sound daft, will tension rods to fit a 200sx fit the 300zx?

If they are the right length and have the correct amount of adjustment yes.

visit their site. Ring them and they will advise you the best option. Im pretty sure they will fit though.

Hi Pete,

Sorry bud - just got your PM and didn't see this thread ...

I can help source all parts you're after. My recommendation is as follows:

Stillen Anti-Roll Bars

KYB-AGX struts

Eibach springs (progressive)

Powertrix adjustable Front camber arms & tension rods

Powertrix adjustable Rear camber arms

That should see a drop of around 30mm, correct camber setup, compliant ride for UK roads/track sessions and much better cornering control.

I need to sort out some prices for you - need to check current exchange rate, etc. and will get back to you ASAP.

Regards,

Dan

PS - DON'T buy S13/S14 suspension parts and fit it to a 300ZX - they may look identical but there are some subtle differences which means they won't fit/operate properly on the heavier 300ZX.

I asked them the same question as a lot of the stuff hey have is for the 200sx and 300zx fitment.. but that was a week ago and heard nothing back.. you do find out then could you please let me know.

Thanks

Neil

Hope you dont mind me using some of your info jim

rear lower arms £220 (optional)

rear upper camber arms £127 (You need)

rear traction rods £93.00 (optional)

reAR HICAS arms £195 (You want)

front lower arms £230 (optional)

front tension rods £117 (you need)

I need tension rods anyway

I will be getting the driftworks hicas eliminator for definate

so the only other part i need to get the car lowered other than the obvious springs and shocks is

Rear upper camber arms?

Not front upper camber arms?

Please excuse my stupidity but i really dont understand suspension parts :)

Front upper Camber Arms

Front tension rod Arms

Rear Camber Arms

The front is more important than the rear as the rear has some adjustablity in it,depending on how low you go. If you fit Eibach springs, then you should'nt need the rear cambers arms, Eibachs drop by about 20mm, not as much as you want but they are great springs - Progressive (soak up small bumps and firm up when cornering hard) with really good spring rates and a great match for the KYB AGX shocks.

Stillen adjustable ARB's are a great bit of kit, and include new bushes. As well as making the car corner much flatter they also allow you to adust understeer and oversteer characteristics.

The Above setup will transform the car, it will feel a lot lighter and more chuckable with quicker reactions, more grip and a flatter cornering and ride quality wont suffer either. The KYB's are adjustble to suit your preferences from smoother than stock to the odd track day capability.

Get yourself a set of Polyurethane steering rack bushes too.

Yeah the steering bushes make a big difference to the feel of the steering, more responsive and will eliminate alot of the loose feeling.
