That might suit some of the modifications you have planned!

On a serious note, you need to check whether the size of the thread is compatible with the hole in the other end of the gearstick. Whilst most cheap aftermarket knobs are advertised as 'universal, fits all', with the Z, that's not always the case. The Z's stick has quite a bit of 'girth'.

I wouldn't fit it.

Lol, I do like your replys. they always make me smile, If I dont fit any of the new stuff to my car you wouldnt fit I'd have to throw everything in the bin;)

How much would a new genuine one be, preferably with red stitching?

They are both around the £80 - £90 mark iirc over here. Silly money really, but there's a lot to be said for the stock knob. It fits properly, is very well made and is correctly weighted. Many cheap aftermarket knobs appear to be manufactured from nothing more than flimsey plastic and some fake leather and weigh nothing and you loose the feel.

I bought an original OEM one, there's no red anywhere on the rest of the car and red/white is a nasty clash in many cases. I got mine from Performance Nissan in LA last summer and I paid $50, which was £25 at the time! Just popped it in my suitcase! :) I should have brought 100 of the things back with me!

Some of the better quality Momo ones feel pretty good, but can't beat the comfort and feel of the stock shifter IMO.

Absolutely, handled a load of knobs in my time...err..anyway, a new stock gearknob feels great, its the weight that really makes the difference.

I went for a stock one and had it retrimmed with blue stitching to match the rest of my interior.

Theres only one knob and thats "THE VINZIE KNOB"

I just sold that knob for a tenner vinz, too big for me.........I prefer smaller knobs you can fit comfortably in the palm of your hand:D
