In my old uk spec zed the seat position always seemed to be lower than my jspec :wack:  always had plenty of head room and could easily see the dash through the steering wheel... in the jspec my head seems v close and the steering wheel seems too low!

is this just because the foam was flattened by some bloater who had eaten too many subway meatball marinaras or are our western friends seat mounts boosted up slightly to help with height issues!? 'the ergonomics of culture'

I reckon they must be different mate - my bro has a '91 US Spec (we think - belts attached to doors?) and he has enough room in that to be comfortable (he's about 6'5" I think) but in my '94 J Spec his head brushes the targas!

Do the seats vary between Series I / II etc, eg velour, leather ?

I've noticed this too..on some cars the seats go lower than on others, its not a UK vs Jap difference though, as I have noticed the difference between different Jap Series 1 cars.....

Im certain the seats themselves on all versions are identical in terms of structure/mechanism, not noticed any difference in all the sets I've removed/refitted (except for material differences, adjustable lumbar and the non-electric versions), but have no explanation :-S

Series 1 has belts on the doors. Unless your brother's Z is LHD, it won't be a US spec. US specs also have a secondary reel in the base of the door.

iv got a j-spec 92 and i always put the fact that a can t see the clocks properly down to the fact im not a 5ft japanese person, im 6'5! lol!

im about 6'3" and have the same prob... but i didnt in my uk jobbie... there may be light for us tall folk when we find more details of this height adjustment malarky!

well iv just got my new blinds!!! (thanks pete) fit great and now when i bash my head when turning into a space its a less harsh cussiond blow to the head instead! is it the wheel that is at a different height or the seat? if its the seat surely they would be on shims or sumthing i refuse to beleive nissan redesignd the seats for a generally 'taller' country!

my J spec seat tilts up and down rather than going up and down. I'm 6 4' can see the clocks ok and my head doesnt touch the roof.

loool i never knew they did that! Just found the tilt switch that i never knew existed! Asked murt on msn how to adjust height and he explained... I feel all excited that iv found a new thing :hyper:
