Hi please could anyone help me?

I have a 1994 N/A and since I'v had it I only get 130 miles to a tank. It starts up fine and runs ok'ish' (fills a bit lumpy)

 

What I'v done so far:

-Changed the water temp sensor

-Check emissions which were spot on.

-Had a live reading with everything looking fine.

-Check ECU for fault codes

 

The only thing i can think that it might be is the air flow meter but not too sure how to check it.

Nope - thats only 8.5 mpg! do you have a really heavy right foot?

8.5mpg.....!

a hole in the tank would use less fuel....:D

 

seriously though....does it smell of petrol when running / starting her up?

I've got a '92 N/A and get around 400 to a tank on a decent m/way trip so somethings definitely wrong - possibly a leak somewhere.

I get more out of my TT and i have a very heavy right foot! :eek:

i have a tt and get about 180 when i drive it heavy footed

at the minute im getting about this too, but i have a fuel leak and bad coolant temp sensor

no fuel leaks in my twin turbo 10-12mpg dont matter how i drive lol

I get 250 - 350 miles in my N/A depending on how I drive it. Something is seriously wrong with yours, I cant believe your emissions are OK. Get to a good Z mechanic it will cost you less than 2 tanks of fuel to get the problem identified.

Agree with the above 300+mpg if i dont mess around

whent to st pancras station twice and in heavy traffic this wk/end done 287.6 miles and still got a quater tank left

Mine use to use a hell of alot of petrol use to be about £10 for around 15miles ish. but ive changed the O2 sensors and all is good :)

i filled my car up when i got it from mexbourgh and drove it back so norfolk and had over half a tank left im not sure how many miles i got as my odometer dont work but i can get 60miles from £15 worth of petrol
