Um, not a fish or frog or anything - but a friggin tonne of ice!

Swear to you, this past week has been the coldest weather I have ever ever felt in my whole life!

6 months in Uk, 6 months back home in Southern Africa - sounds good to me! Skip winter all together :D if only......

LOL. My sister's in ZA at the moment. 34 degrees in Cape Town when I heard last! Grrrrrrrr

I cleaned my Leon today, it was about 4 degrees, so ok with washing it, but the hose pipe was full of ice. I had to take the end off, turned on the water and out came, what can only be described as an 'ice worm'. Made a right funny noise as it hit the passenger side window!

Simon..your restoring my faith in you, thought you was going to say "a 2 foot long ice turd":rofl:

should have just sucked the water out and poured the vodka in the pond. would have been easier to get some ice cubes.

my fish pond is 14ft x 8ft x 5ft deep built it about 14 years ago and it froze right over for the first time this week.

Fooking hell, suprised there are no frozen fish in there lol........

I was concerned when the fella in there wasn't moving about, so grabbed the metal spatula thingy from the kitchen and started hacking away at the ice - nothing, just chipped it here and there!

Poured hot water on the top, nothing....

Out came the garden scissor thingys - job done! And fishy still alive!

Few hours later, the big ice thing is still frozen on the lawn, and the pond has frozen up again!

put an electric 3 bar fire into the pond to keep the water warm:wack:

I finished building this for my dad a few years back, I'd hate to see how much Ice is on top of it now. It's just under 22,000 gallons.

very nice:)

I'll get a pic of my old man of the finished product.

You need to have a warming device on top of the water, a metal heated rod with polystyrene float keeps an small area clear, I think 300zx_girl had this looking at the square hole in the ice.

If the whole area of the pond ices over it prevents poisionious gases escaping and therefore kills the fish eventually.
