Can anybody confirm that the sparkplug PFR6B-11C actually says it on the plug?

The one ive taken out says 'PFR6B-11' on it and has a big 'NGK R' sign on the ceramic,

Ive done a search and the 'PFR6B-11' is for a Ford

100% fella

"PFR5B-11 N/A hot plug

PFR6B-11 N/A cooler plug for higher BHP

(This has just changed to PFR5G-11)

PFR5B-11B TT hot plug

PFR6B-11B TT cooler plug for higher BHP

PFR7B-11B TT Even cooler for seriously high BHP"

ok, so my TT has NA plugs in, which are causing the missfiring im getting!

I have some colder ones on order from danny but untill then i cant find any so i will stay away from driving

P.s

My car has had these plugs in since 2004 and they have worked fine until recently :)

PFR6B-11C is for a TT

PFR5B-11B TT hot plug

Im confused both of these are mentioned on this thread .

NGK PFR6B-11C = Standard fit in UK for TT

NGK PFR6B-11 = Standard fit in Japan for TT

In the real world either plug will work without any real issues even with more boost, however as UK fuel is rated lower than Jap fuel it is best to change them when you have the chance, saying that if the truth be known every if not all imports will have the NGK PFR6B-11 plug in and this alone has not proved to be an issue concidering how long imports have been in the UK now.

Ive already ordered some colder ones from danny, but i need a single NGK PFR6B-11 to get my car running untill they arrive,

the ones ive ordered aint even at his shop yet

Same here, I think they are stuck at customs. I am sure if you put a 'wanted' up for a used spark plug, you'd get a response if you're only looking to get it running correctly.

ive just done a quicky google search and it states they are used on a ford galaxy and a million other cars so a trip there tommorw and maybe that'll be it

Incorrect mate, your making the same mistake many others do which often results in the incorrect plugs being fitted, your missing the last letter of the plug code.

The plugs that were fitted to the zed from the factory were designed by NGK ONLY to be applicable to the zed.

This link shows you exactly what your looking for, the 11c's you "may" get off the shelf, the 11b's you won't as the plug was only made available to the US market. Oh read both links, info is from NGK themselves.

I read those earlier buddy, im not after a total replacement but just one plug to use untill the proper ones arrive,

All the plugs in my car at the minute are PFR6B-11's, and as jeff said all imports had those.

So installing one as a replacement to last prob two weeks should be ok surely.

Well i guess if you only need one, sure. But don't forget NGK did plugs for the zed to suit the different countries and if those are jap import ones, the zed in japan was never meant to go over 112mph or over stock boost so can only be of the most basic design for our powerful V6 ??

Good luck anyways ;)

yeah sure, its mainly just to get me to work anyway, im back in on friday so need the car running, 5 cylinders isn't ideal lol

But as soon as the new ones arrive all will be well

That article is not strictly correct, the correct plug for a standard car is a PFR6B-11C and one that is slightly uprated is PFR6B-11B.

For seriously uprated cars there are irridiums in cooler heat ranges, but they do not last as long and I would only use them if circa 500bhp+

thats what it says, but like jeff said earlier, jap cars were standard with PFR6B-11's

and this article is from a new zealand forum

What Jap cars were fitted with oem is not relevant to the Uk as Jap fuel is very high octane, meaning they can run hotter plugs.

Another factor is that NGK has different codes for different countries, so it is difficult to get codes from one small area of the world and use it for our situation.

When I rang NGK and spoke to them directly they confirmed the only two plugs they recommend are the two I mentioned.
