Just a little advice to those (like me) who may have overlooked their's for a while.......

..........Especially as my ZX sits in my garage most of the time nowadays. When it was my daily drive I checked them weekly and, boringly, they never changed.

However as I'm taking it to Cornwall tomorrow, I decided to do all the usual checks this morning. I found the tyres were around 5-10 psi below what they should have been so obviously I pumped them up.

And what a transformation!! the car grips, corners and brakes soooooo much better than before:bow:

Amazing what a change something so simple can make!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I try and do this on a regular occasion. I got into a habit of it as I had a very slightly leaky valve on my Z before replacing the tyres. The valve seal on the inner part of the rim had perished slightly.

I check my Leon on a weekly basis as I cover quite a lot of mileage in it. Luckily my local Waitrose has 'free air' at its petrol station, so I don't keep having to remember to keep a 20p coin with me all the time for the theiving arse holes aka Motorway Service stations....who even charge you to fill your washer bottle!

Makes the car feel far more responsive and 'sharp' with correct pressures.

few weeks back some little sh**s let the air out all my tyres and i had about 8psi in all of them drove to uni and it was like driving on ice!!

Parked up looked at the tyres and was like holy s**t!

As soon as i filled them up no more Dorifto :( :) :( :)

Don't forget your psi reading is considerably different once you start driving.

My friends sprinter tells you what is in the tyres and the difference is substantial from cold and then when you have been driving for a while.

What do people recommend for regular driving? I was thinking 34 - 36 psi.

i run 32

32 in mine also. I always check pressures when cold/cool.

Ye as it will read higher with a warm tyre.

No doubt missed you now richard, maybe your passing Plymouth?
