hi all first post so thought id say hi :D:D

am very new to these jap cars only ever owned one prior to this and that was a swift gti ,which was an eye opener to say the least lol :nana2::nana2:

heard about my current buy (fairlady z tt)through a friend was told had been sitting there for a while ,anyway went to see it and it looked ok so i got it very cheaply

my first question is does anyone know of it the reg is c 300 x lol nice plate i know hehehe:mac1:

to be honest im a ford lad through and through ( i own 3 cosworths)

and was a bit dissapointed in its performance btw its a twin turbo import but is auto sadly (may convert it in future if easy)

feels very sluggish and not sure what to expect after my cosworths ,im sure there is room for improvement just not sure were to start ???

think its in std setup as still has 112mph limiter as i found on way to mot today (on my private grounds lol)

boost is displayed in hg as apposed to psi which im used to ...

so what is 7hg on the dash in psi????

also is there any room for improvement through tightening actuator rods????

im looking for any info on the car reg no is c300x

and also cheap tuning mods keeping it semi reliable lol:cry::cry:

will sort the usual induction/filter kit

already has a stainless

can you get adjustable actuators or am i best buying a boost controller setup???

any ideas would be peachy thanks

and lastly hi all :nana2::nana2::

Before you go trying to force more power from your new zed you need to do some research on getting it running correctly, from your description it really should be much better.

I was heavily into Cosworths when they were new, had an almost new moonstone blue saphire and over almost 5 years ownership it had numerous engine tuning parts suspension parts, upgraded bushes, tyres wheels, lights, eventually I rebuilt the engine from a Graham Goode RS500 block, balanced pistons beefed up crank, wire ringed head Amed Bahoo chip ( Fords own rally programme writer) 3 bar map sensor, light green and then dark green injectors eventually got the eight RS 500 set up and matching turbo, la la la on and on........ Then I drove a 300zx Twin Turbo...... sold the Cosworth the next day! and bought my first 300zx

That was nearly 14 nearly ago and have been involved with 300`s ever since, the handling the performance and looks made the Cossy look dated then and makes it look even more dated today! and as I and others are saying if the performance is not exciting you then something is wrong with the set up, maybe easy to correct but once its is then you can look at raising the power, but do not make the mistake of comparing the two cars both are high performance but in very different ways.

Of course all of this is just my opinion and in no way want to offend anyone.:D

missing word

Plus if you are droping down from 450hp to 280hp that isnt running right then its quite obvious that its going to be slower.

But atlest the zx looks like a proper sports car and has the perfect driving position. Also you cannot nock tha dash of a Z when driving a ford

thanks guys and yes i hear what your saying about the comparisons ,

two totally diff cars and diff charecteristics ,just meant to say that i expected a little more from the zed power wise thats all ...

cant fault the looks as it looks mean , hahahah about the ford dash but honestly think the zed dash is terrible (can just picture a designer giving 10 yr old the job of positioning swithces etc lol)

and the dash looks like its been left next to a fire too long and melted ,then someone covered bottom half with their grandads best chord pants lol

least the ford has the excuse of being 80,s design

thats my only gripe really apart from it feels down on power !!!:mac1::mac1:

just feel it has a little more to give tbh

have checked all the usual stuff all coil on plugs are spot on ,had new plugs ,oil and filter etc

will be getting new k&n filter monday

it needs de-restricting defo

think its just a bit sticky due to being sat up for over a yr poor thing lol

are injectors easy to remove as might get them ultrasonically cleaned as my mate does this

i could plug the conzult in and see iff it has any codes on it jed..and i smoke lambert&butler by the way:D

ps...dont buy a k&n..its a apexi cone filter you need mate

what you need to do is give me 5k for my car, spend another 3-4k on an engine rebuild and have a very good extremely quick 300zx lol

there will be connectors in places that you aint even thought of lookin that could fook up the running of the zed, i know ive been down that route lol

Sounds like you have a serise 1 which had the tweed dash and funny heater pods.

They changed all this for a digital set up and had a velour or suade interiour.

But there is so much you can do to a zx

You cannot say this looks pants
