damage doesnt look to bad on the surface.

99spec bumper a bit scuffed & doesnt quite line up with o/s wing

looks like the bar behind the bumper is damaged

o/s wheel arch scuffed

now the bad part...

car wont rev over 3k

and wont go faster than say about 25mph

hiccuping/spluttering

keeps cutting out when trying to pull away

car is a UK TT Auto.

what do you think could be the matter?

garage cant look at it till wednesday, so would like a rough idea to what the problem might be...

just means the TVR will be my everyday car for a while.

oh joy :(

Sorry to hear that. I think someone else has claimed first Z prang of the cold snap.

Maff maf, muff muf, maf muf, mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Ouch sorry to hear it,

I agree with Si (both about the MAF and the claim for first prang), I hit a wall in my old Primera and had the same sort of running issues and a new one solved the issue.

checked the intercooler and the pipes seem ok

how do i check the MAF?

and how much for a replacement?

new?

second hand?

thanks for the quick replies guys :)

Do you have a spare one? Take off the nose panel and check the connector and wiring harness first.

would driving it cause any damage? (1-2 miles)

could really do with moving it from where its at to somewhere a bit more safe

does it stink when you drive it ?

coz when my maf went on my astra sri it took me 20 minutes to move it 1/4 mile and was burning my cat

when smelt like it was

you might be alrite then but im no expert id wait for someone to say yes or no first

if its bust like it sounds, your car will be eigher overfueling or running lean because you ecu cannot measure how much flow of air is passing through

It will be overfueling. If the ECU can't pick up any readings from the sensors, it uses pre-stored default values which increase fueling.

so is it safe to drive or do i risk serious damage?

Over a short distance and driven steady it should not cause any harm. I would also check your intercooler on that side as they do not like any sort of rough handling, i.e., a crash. They tend to split the casing or araound the pipe connections.
