Just been looking on ionic dynamics website and they now make a carbon fibre 99 spec spoiler:hyper: but they have no price up as of yet:nelson:.......

I think i may have to start dropping suttle hints to the mrs now on what i want for xmas:nana2:

Not sure why they not showing price,its been out for years. Funkysi has one in Carbon Fibre from Ionic Dynamics, but he painted his.

Email José and tell him that Funkysi sent you. I am sure he'll give you a good deal. I met him out in San Diego about 3 years ago and picked it up in person. He's invited me to his workshop too, but we've never been in the right place at the right time. So maybe next year.

 

I actually bought mine by mistake. I wasn't too fussed whether I'd bought a CF one or not as I was always going to paint it. When I met up with him he produced this lovely CF spoiler which I originally thought was going to be GRP. I was very impressed with the quality and did feel a little sad that I'd be rubbing it back. But I don't really see the appeal in sticking carbon bits all over the car, so was happy when it was painted and fitted. £-$ was pretty good and it didn't cost much more at the time anyway.

 

I think I paid something like $350? So, about £175. You need to add shipping to that. He can send it over for you, but I mailed it back to myself via seafreight and saved a bunch of money.

Because I don't like the carbon look at all, it would have looked horrendous on my car being pearl white too.

 

I ordered the wrong spoiler, but the difference in cost wasn't too great, so I kept it and painted it.

I think carbon on white would look pretty cool!

No, it looked awful. I did offer it up to see what it looked like. It didn't compliment the car at all! Maybe on a solid white it might work, but you'd really have to go with the race look and get gunmetal LMGT4s or something, very low, tinted windows etc.

 

Just didn't work with the pearl white paintwork and shiney wheels.

I love the look of carbon fibre but like si said above, without the full on race look it looks pointless unpainted.

IMHO, think you should leave it as it is. I've seen the car and it looks perfect. Just a set of spacers for the wheels to push them right out into the arches and you're set.

Dont have any pics of the spoiler on my car at present as it is in garage but it looks great on the Black bodywork.

If you are going to remove your existing 99 spec rear spoiler and its not damaged, I'd be interested at the right price. I myself have been considering the 99 spec and would end up respraying a cf one. So if you go ahead, drop me a pm, we might be able to deal. :)
