I'm interested if anyone here has tramp / wheel hop problems with their TTZ's and especially if they've solved it. I'm now running Eibach springs, our Solid Aluminium subframe bushings and KYB super street shocks. I still have to remove the HICAS and put in some better adjustable shocks (am thinking about height & damping adjustable ones). But I want rid of the damned axle tramp!!!! The only way to not get tramp is to let rip in the wet (Launch control in the wet is something entirely new and fun!!) on a perfectly smooth bit of road. Sometimes in the dry on a really smooth piece of road it won't tramp but that seems to be more a minor miracle than an…

I've been reading about your exposure to a Porsche that can reach 230mph. Well, mine doesn't quite match that but will reach a top speed in excess of 200MPH. I would like to see your Z as I'm a big fan of the Nissan 300.

Well it had to happen one day ... Gearchanges, particularly 1st to 2nd have been getting more mushy, despite the HKS ALC and yesterday I got something just like clutch slip in second. Now driving around very carefully ! I'm assuming that it's the combination of 1990 auto, 70,000 miles, ALC fitted a bit late in the gearboxes life and the bits of engine tuning I have. I'm probably going to get Silvia to take the gearbox out and get it rebuilt. I know the people they use do an upgrade to increase line pressure - has anyone got experience of this ? Is it the same as the HKS ALC ? Or does it increase pressure under all conditions and not just when driving hard ?…

Hi all - possible stupid question here: Is there such a beast as a single-turbo 300? I'd never heard of one until I recently found someone's site that listed masses of performance cars. In the Nissan category it had several entries for 300's by year, but actually listed three different types, the NA, a "300ZX Turbo", and the TT. The performance stats for the 'single-turbo' where about halfway between the other two cars. I wouldn't have though much of this, but I recently saw a car at a dealer that didn't have the TwinTurbo badge on the back, but did have the boost gauge on the dash. Any ideas? Raz

Hi, A friend of mine has installed a HKS EVC4 boost controller in my Z. I have 2 questions : 1) In the HKS installation instructions, it does not say anything about disconnecting the stock solenoids, but on some web sites, they say to disconnect them. HKS say disconnect them if you are 'underboosting'. What should I do ? 2) The HKS EVC4 has a switch on the back labelled SW and PO. HKS say 'SW' is for a single port, swing valve or internal type wastegate and 'PO' is for a dual port, poppet or external type wastegate. What should I set mine to ? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I have for sale a front and a rear bumper from a 1990 TT 300 import (so the mounts for number plates are Square). Both are in reasonably good condition and are in red (Strosek replacements are being fitted). I also have an auto-box, propshaft and torque converter. All are making way for a manual conversion because the auto had a problem where you could drive for 100 yards or so and then you would lose drive. Turn the ignition off and start again and everything would be fine for another 100 yards. I don't know if the problem was with the box or the electrics, but a spare box for someone might be useful. Any offers or queries e-mail me at pauls@pstorr99.freeser…

the fuel filter back to front!!! I had a major service last september and the mech installed a new fuel filter as part of the service. Ive only just noticed. Could be contributory to the detonation & low power at high revs problems if there is fuel starvation. Just replaced it. Q. I am looking to replace my plugs. I am currently using Bosch/botch Platinum LOL. Has NE1 had problem using these plugs before? Trying NGK PRF6B - ? (11b or 11c) C is standard and I think b is a cooler plug. NE1 using them? What do you think? Running 13.5 psi so I guess a cooler set of plugs are now needed? Im also going to try some of this Redline Wat…

check out the karting info in the news section. As of tonight, there are only 9 driver spaces left, and i have 3 possible drivers who will confirm on Tuesday, and 1 north london driver whose money is on its way i think. That may only leave 5..... All spaces are first come first served. So email me for my bank details, and you can get your place secured. craig@avnet.co.uk I might try and arrange some more places, but the downside to that is that we all get less tracktime. So 20 is the ideal number. As i sure as heck want as much time on track as i can get, without paying for two spaces :)

I am 23 and have been saving for a Jap super car for 3 yrs. I had settled for a Supra as a 300zx seemed out of my league. It is looking like I might be able too aford a Z so I would like some guidance before I make the leap. Could I expect to get a reasonable car for £5K ? Would a budget of 1K a year be enough to keep your average stock model running nicely (servicing, maintance and repairs)? Are there many Z friendly mechanics around Swindon? Would you seasoned hands still talk to me if I held off on the mods while I got used to the car? Thanks, Phil.

I have just tried to finalise my purchase of the HKS modified ZX, when the dealer put the paper work to the finance company they came back and said that they would only go up to 10K on this type of veihcle, this was the same response from several companies. Has anybody had this problem before and can somebody recomend a finance company that will take the ZX on board, they seem to think they are very specialised car and are nervous.

Hi guys, While I was sitting in traffic this morning I was wondering does anyone know what the maximum RPM is on a standard Z32 TT with the speed limiter removed? Can the VG30DETT handle 8000RPM+ safely or would it need stronger internals? Thanks guys, Trev.

I am a new joiner, and currently awaiting delivery of my car. The car is an imported short wheelbase 2 seater Fairlady Z twin turbo of 1994.7 origin. The model has the slightly higher set spoiler. I am concerned about the siting of the rear fog light, and agreed to have an external one filled under the bumper, rather than have the bumper cut at this stage. I would like to have a better job after delivery and would like information about the fitting on other member's cars. Can the rear cluster be modifier/replaced, or is this not legal. Is the only option to have twin rear fogs cut neatly into the rear bumper, as I see on some of the member's pictures? Thank you…
