Well the honymoon is over, I'm starting to feel nervous about my car. Driving it last night I could hear the fan belt slipping, just wet I tought, but when I stopped I noticed the Idle wasn't as smooth as it used to be. Would a slipping fan-belt, or another belt, cause this problem or am I just being paranoid ? Herman

There is a place in the UK that sell these turbos at the following prices: TD06 FROM £200 TD05 FROM £200 I understand that the internals will be very different to the Greddy kits and you dont get a greddy stainless manifold. How different would the internals be of these £200 turbos compared to the Greddy Kits? The reason I ask is that could a Hybrid turbo builder convert these normal TD's to perform as the Greddy kits do? Companies like Turbo Technics say they can build hybrid turbos to any spec e.g. Nimonic wastegate spindle, cut-back blades, 360° small pad thrust bearing etc... so using the air ratio and flow specs of the greddy kits could this be done? Any…

My set up: When I put my sidelights on only the front fogs come on (dim); normal beam = dim fogs + round driving lights; Flick steering wheel switch to spot and just squares come on; so under 'normal' driving I push the front fogs switch to on and have them + rounds giving me light Is this a correct/acceptable set up Robb

Who likes the new BMW 4 circle sidelights bult into the main units? I think they look so cool.In fact in between posting tonight have almost effected the same effect in to the front spot lamps but more of an elipse shape at moment, having trouble shaping the light trasmitting plastic at the moment, but patience will endure. should look effective and give a better look when in side light mode. I have had the odd problem with the PTU when really hot so I found a spare CPU cooler fan and bolted it over the PTU and wired it to a 12v supply. Shame it's freezing bloody cold now I've got round to this. I'll let you know it it's worked some time next summer! LOL

Anyone ever had or have the same problem, where you can open the drivers side window and then the switch decides to play dead for a bit and let you shut it when it feels like it? Did it to me tonight just as I was leaving the gym and as it was just trying to rain. I have visions of having to sleep in a petrol station. Anyone had to replace the unit or is the problem a relay?

They are discussing whether the Jap import manuals and autos have the same size turbo. Hope this link works :- http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/message?forumid=70520&messageid=1005564159 No explanation yet as to whether they are the smaller auto turbo, or the larger manual one. Given that the power outputs are less important to the heavilly restricted Jap market it may be possible that (it's all bull) or they use the smaller turbos for greater low down ooomph.

If I upgrade my front brake calipers and disks is it possible/easy to fit the old ones to the rear instead of the weedy little ones on there now? If so does it mess up the brake balance and involve further work?

... I proved that my headlight cleaning was effective, whether it was worth it, well that depends on how long the scars take to heal ! Secondly, I dropped into Harry's on the way and bought some 0.8mm welding tips. So if any of you without the luxury of electronic boost controllers wants a pair to enable running ~14psi boost, then let me know because they come in fours. First come first served.

Had a conversation with a technician from my local Nissan dealer (Polesworth Garage) today whilst picking up some service kits. As I had parked out of sight, I Acted completely thick (quite easy)and asked a few obvious questions on someones elses behalf (Pretend) and a couple of more tech ones. He had`nt a clue! it was so funny, I let him completely hang himself as I asked about tuning and timing,he explained at some length as to how the timing cannot be altered that there is no where to change it and these cars are notorious for requiring head jobs at very low mileage? He also mentioned that they looked after a red one for a customer and they are such tempremental cars…

I called a Nissan Main dealer (Polesworth) to find out how much my fan belt would be to be changed (fed up of the squeeling now!) I was informed that it would be; £160'ish for the labour 'if' all he belts needed to be removed to put on the fan belt, but they should all be changed anyway.... £18.21 for my A/C belt £19.15 for my Fan/Alternator Belt £18.21 for my Power Steering Belt So roughly £220'ish for the whole job, plus the old VAT of course... This sounds steep to me but I could be wrong. Can I get it done cheaper? HELP!!! Matty. ------------------ Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...…
