My god, I went out this morning to take my kids swimming, and could I find my car??!! Turns out it had been "towed" by the poxy council, because I was supposedly parked "in" a disabled bay outside the doctor's in my rd. The wheels were NOT in the bay, a bit of the rear end was over the line, but there was LOADS of space to park, I was not obstructing the bay at all!!! I checked to make sure that there was loads of space still. My rd is a nightmare to park in at the best of times, and this is outrageous. I went to the pound today to claim my car (they want £200), and because I didn't have any ID on me, they said I couldn't have it. I told them all my docs were in the car a…

Still trying to solve my Z's throttle problem. Short story is that the TPS is pushing out 0.44V (checked with multimeter and replaced TPS), even on the plug into the ECU. Datascan shows the TPS voltage as 0.9V. As a consequence the car is not running well, high idle and very harsh gear changes. It also seems to sit at higher revs when cruising, but maybe that's another problem. Anyway I've now swapped out both the auto box ECU and the main engine ECU and have the same readings, so whilst I'm happy that's 2 more bits ruled out I'm still left with my problem. So I'm thinking there must be a short or something elswhere or possibly some other sensor into the ECU cau…

Hi, how easy is it ( or not ) to replace the oem seats in my uk zed with a set of aftermarket seats. From what i can gather, no body makes frames for the zed, so modding the original ones are ok to do etc.. Thanks

Now then, Can somebody tell me what oil is recommended for the automatic gearbox and the differential. Cheers, Steve.

  13. Sound's like a daft question to me but yes really... would you install an oil cooler on an auto box in a Z32 N/A????. I ask this because I sent mine to a 300ZX specialist (apparently) to have a new radiatior fitted and after 6 months my auto box has packed up and today I realised he bypassed my trans cooler when he fitted the new rad. This is the short story... the long story is is in the next posting for those interested. (I realise that somke like the short threads and some like the full technical story).

I decided to go for a run in the car tonight and took it for a blast down the motorway and whilst driving through town on the way back, the revs started hunting when I was pulling up or sat at idle (in neutral and in gear), after a few minutes of this the engine stalled. The car restarted straight away and I drove off but the revs were hunting again and eventually stalled again. It did this several times until I was able to pull into an area that wasn't obstructing the road. I swtiched every thing electrical off that wasn't necessary and after about 5mins, I restarted and the revs seemed to be holding and drove off. About 1 mile later it did it again. This time I…

Yo, I just found this forum tonight. We imported a 1999 'classic' Zx300 from new and it now has 50,000 miles. I'm no mechanic but I think I should perhaps find a caring garage. I'm not sure the Croydon Nissan garage really gives value for a service. Any recommendations? We live near Reigate, postcode RH3 7DU. Also can anyone advise when Cam Belts need to be serviced? I'd never considered that cam belts were not covered in a regular service but a chance conversation has indicated otherwise! Cheers Phil W

PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT Now then -- you decide to install boost jets into the boost signal line while keeping the stock solenoids installed. You put in .045 jets and are now running 14 psi. The boost jet is restricting the actual boost signal, "tricking" the system and showing the actuator less pressure (boost) than actual boost. The small hole in the boost jet allows less pressure through the signal hose (about 4-5 psi in this case). The factory solenoid further bleeds this signal (about 3 psi). The result is that the actuator sees 6 psi of pressure when in actually you are running 14 psi into the manifold. Another issue here, the signal is bleeding to the actuato…

Hi has any one ever had a head pitted in and around the valve area and head gasket sealing ring area? These heads have been skimmed before.. Can the head be skimmed and still be within tolerances even though there are worm hole pitting! I have heard some people have had to have the valves seated further in??

HELP PLEASE! My ABS warning light won’t go off - please can someone tell me what is the most likely thing to have gone wrong, what checks I can do, etc in order to fix it (I’m really hoping it’s gonna be cheap 'cos I'm dead skint at the moment). Is the car safe to drive? By the way, I have the mechanical ability of a slug, so the simpler the better! THANKS!!!!!
