 Went onto a roundabout today about 35-40, just following a freelander then bang, hit a brick and my Tie rod snapped (have i got that right, bit thats attached from front hub to front cross member somewhere, its adjustable) well that sent me round in a circle then into the kirb, only obvious damage is as mentioned above, just wondered if this is adjustable as standard and will it just be the same as a uk spec cars part or is this an aftermarket jobby thats adjustable and any idea how much this will cost me, ill go and get it tomorrow if its available from a normal auto parts store. cheers ryan

Its spose to be a 3.1ltr With: JE pistons Knife edge crank Carillo rods Here are some pics of the crank. Not really knife edge is it?!?! I've also measured the piston bore and its 87.4mm. Would that make it a 3.1ltr? I've had a look at the online manual but cant work out the standard piston size. Not sure on the rods. They are still in. Wasnt planning on taking them out.

It's about time we put the 300 on the map, so we're building something for the job. Just thought I'd ask what we have to beat at the moment, in the UK. I'm interested in documented quarter mile times, lap times, top speeds etc. It would be awesome to compete in TOTB at some point, but not till we're ready to really kick ass. So, what ya got? :) Dave.

Drove over to Wales last Saturday, about a 300 mile round trip. Got 120 miles away from home on the M4 when the car started pulling left, getting worse over about a mile. Uh-oh, thought I. Then the vibration starts, pull over and sure enough the front nearside is totally flat, with the pressure marks from the rim down the motorway (see first pic). I unload my bike to get at the spare, jack and wheel brace... um, what wheel brace?! Oh fook I never put it back! :headvswal Quick call to the RAC, he'll be there in 30 mins. 15 mins later, they ring me back- he'll be there in 45 mins! He actually turned up on the hour, but no thanks to the RAC controllers- they s…

I've bought some component speakers to replace my stock (?) kenwood ones. Anyway since I now have tweeters I'm guessing I need some extra wire to connect those to the crossovers. What I'm wondering though is... Is car speaker wire different to home speaker wire? i.e. the type you might buy to extend the distance that your speakers can be placed away from your stereo. Also do I really need to replace the existing wire? Thanks in advance. Al

Folks, I have a knock sound when going over bumps - particularly speed ramps. It doesn't do it every time, and if I go over a speed ramp with my wheels at an angle (ie I turn at the last moment) then it usually won't do it. It sounds fairly solid and like it's coming from the front drivers side suspension. Any ideas? I haven't had the car long so don't really know what I'm looking for. TIA, Tony

Folks, My drivers seat won't go all the way back! There must be some sort of stopper because the motor winds the seat backwards and forwards just fine, but I reckon it could (should) go back another two or three inches at least. How can I adjust it? Thanks, T

Am thinking of getting a front bumper from these guys: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AL%3ARTQ%3AUK%3A1&viewitem=&item=180048005438&rd=1 Seem to be 99' spec ones, they're not to far from where I live, so my go and check them out first, any pointers on what I should look for or ask? snx.
