evening all. ive got a 91 UK TT Manual, and im getting some grinding, almost gurgling noise in 2nd and 4th. im only getting it from about 1500 - 2200 rpm, and then it goes away. it is fine at idle - no noise at all. i have checked the VTC by disconnecting the soleniods, but that seems to make no difference. if i have the car at about 1500rpm in 4th and put my foot to the floor the noise is quite loud, then stops at just over 2000rpm. also, it is comming from the passenger side. anything anyone can suggest? Thanks Dave

Just a big up for smithy really, got one of the first S/S throttle covers and got round to fitting it the other day, looks the nuts, but i was missing 1 of the extenders and 1 screw, now i couldn't put my hand on my heart and say i didnt loose it or if it was missing when i got it, because it's been about 3 months, however i sent a pm to smithy and 3 days later on my door mat fell not 1 but 2 new extenders and 2 new screws. top bloke   so all fitted and looking as bling as it could.

For the guys who have done it... Did you start with an NA or TT? If so, did you make the right choice? or would you have used the other one? A guy at work has a 400bhp chevy LS1 engine and 6spd gearbox for sale. he was going to put it in a morris minor of all things, but has run out of money. I might start to look into this as a zed project.

 :hurl: well it happened. the big ends have gone.....shit well at least its when i was taking her off the road for the winter. just phoned cleasbys up to price the new shells and he reckons he can get them for around 35ish. i am gonna have a go at putting a set in while engine is still in.anybody done this??? if so what should i do and not do. any info would be cool. i know that some of you will recommend that i take the engine out and spend a zillion pound reconditioning it, but as xmas is looming ever so close, and the lack of large amounts of cash, this is not a valid option. my other option of putting a low milage replacement in is probs the best alt…

At the back of my aircon switch pod are two block connectors, now there is only one place to fit a connector. Have I got the wrong switch fitted or is the second smaller grey block redundent. I only ask because my blowers only blow through the centre vents and not on my feet or window screen. Cheers, Scrawni.

Greetings Pop-pickers, I know this isn't a recent sighting but I am interested in the history of a UK Blue Auto TT with this reg. I know where it's been recently and I even know where it is right now! But if anyone knows history of it before this year, I'd be quite interested. Not 'arf. :D

...but is it even possible to remove the centre panel from the rear lights without removing the side panels containing the indicators and brakelights? I've had a good look through the fog light and '99 spec replacement FAQs and haven't managed to find a definitive answer to this. Thanks, Bart

Can anyone reccomend a full system for a SWB car. I want it pretty quiet to be honest. The current zorst is a straight through system with no boxes and it's doing my freekin head in. There seems to be no choice when it comes to SWB exhausts, ZCentre have one, but does anyone know of any other suppliers of different systems.

Anyone near the Northampton area got a welder and any good with it? Bought some new sports front seats and the universal (my arse!) sub frames are s**t  and i need a couple of bars welding to the bottom of the seats so i can then bolt the original subframes and rails onto them. Friend of mine offered to do it for me but i'm still waiting 3 months later  :slap: Any help or advice on where to go greatly received

I've only had my lovely zed a couple of weeks, and already my g/f hates it! She cites six reasons why my '94 uk-spec TT, low mileage, FSH purchase is a complete waste of money: 1. "Totally impractical for taking my mum (aged 83!) and kids (18/15/12) out at the weekend." I disagree - mum and kids love it! (except mum is too deaf to hear the turbos spool up...). 2. "Ridiculously expensive to maintain." (Fair cop) 3. "Won't fit in the garage, coz it's too wide and the door won't open." Disagree - I could climb in and out thru the targa .... 4. "You wash it more often than you wash yourself." (Fair cop again). 5. "You drive like a granny o…
