Hey guys and gals, i don't really post much on here (more of a lurker all these years) and i'm mostly on the Integra DC5 forum. Thought i'd share our latest and long awaited purchase which my old man has wanted for quite some years....a LHD 300zx  :hyper: we've had two JDM 300zx twin turbo...albeit auto :censored: one got sent back home to Portugal to use as a holiday car but ended up being sat for about 5 years so we sold it on two years ago. The one we still have here in the UK gets used on weekend mostly First Zed; Second Zed; Long awaited purchase; 1990 Euro spec (Portuguese) Twin Turbo 2+2 Targa and most importantly...Manual :d…

Interesting short read: http://www.revotechnik.com/support/technical/rolling-roads-explained So basically peak figures are just pub talk and as I have always advocated how a car drives on the road is more important. There are so many variables it is near impossible to repeat accurately power runs from one day to another, let alone from two identical cars at the same time and this is those big tuning companies using high end expensive kit that try and address the short comings in rolling road shoot out days, it is no wonder low end cheap systems with basic set ups are pretty much a waste of time, be careful guys most of the print outs seems to be made of snake…

My names Tom and I have an addiction... Ive bought another one... god help me, my black one isnt even finished yet! My "new" one is a red UK Twin Turbo model. Its been well looked after until the guy I just bought it off had it. It done 80K and the cosmetically its very good, mechanically (apart from brakes from where its been sitting) its good. Structurally is a bit of another story... It does have rust, part for the passenger sill is rusty, most of the drivers sill is rusty and the offside rear arch has a hole big enough for my fist... in fact it might have been my fist that made it! A friend and I went up to Yorkshire to collect it yesterday and boy was it a …

Following on from a thread I've been reading through, I'm curious what everyone thinks looks better, a UK or a JAP rear bumper. The only differences as far as I'm aware are the rear fogs and long number plate in the UK. I'm curious on people's though for my black Zed as I might be able to get a rear bumper for very cheap if I want one, but I'm not sure

Like any old girl you pick up, she's going to have some issues from the past right? I have browsed before i joined and i have read but i wanted some feedback on my efforts so far... My new Z is an '89 import, NA and running large exhausts on the rear, split rims and a K&N. Upon purchasing the Z i was pleased, i ran her for a good 10 miles before handing over the cash, unbeknownst to me, the problems existed later. Up around the 80mph mark on the motorway home i noticed a slight thump (speed related) and assumed it was perhaps a bearing (collapsed or worn). After some more thought, i realised it to be more likely the prop shaft. I have read some pages online…

As per the pic my Targa top has a scratch and there's now slight surface rust. I plan to just spray into it for the moment, but do I need to address such a small amount of rust first?

Hi, does anyone know the best way to remove the plastic trims from the roof, targa, screen sections? I'm thinking of stripping the coating off them and having then powder coated. Is it possible to remove them without breaking the clips? And how do they fit? I've been told they just clip on but I'm sure I'll manage to break something if advice isn't sourced from the knowledgeable first.. Any help much appreciated.

I have acquired a spare MAF and was just wondering what the best way to "test" it would be? My thought would be to just swap it with my current MAF and see if the Zed works the same. I thought I would gauge thought on here before I do this just in case I shouldn't! My plan is to sell the MAF but I don't want to sell one that does not work. Any thoughts appreciated.

Hey brit buddies:) I´ve just replaced all my spark plugs today switching from bosch to NGK Iridium IX, last ones had like 5 years eventhough I don´t use the Z for a daily ride, perhaps once a month it goes out. I spoke to a friend who works at Nissan dealer in Osaka and he strongly recommended me these NGK. So far today when I started the egine I did noticed inmediately a nice smoother start and my first doubt was when I got the baby riding..well to my surprise and nice I did noticed a different ride much more smoother and fast take off. Before it kind a had this feeling like when a horse wants to stumble and he kept jumping. Would love to hear reviews of ya´ll r…

As some of you know this is the arse end of my car, so my question is should I change it to a different style and if so what do you think would be the best style to change to? When I got the car nearly 10 years ago now, I thought it looked good... But there again 10 years ago the wife's arse looked good! And it's maybe time for a change on both counts...lol,so any ideas OR would you keep it as is...the monza look must be quite rare now yes?

This has happened intermittently for a while, basically the fuel pump makes a slightly higher pitched whining noise than normal, engine cranks but no joy. Then sometimes it fires normally, very odd and I heard it might be the PTU so dremelled it open only to find all connections were good, cleaned the plug connections too while I was at it, still the same. Any thoughts guys?

I visited a scrap yard today expecting it to be a LWB and to my surprise it was a shorty targa, that matters not with tail lights I am well aware. It's always best to examine them first hand as pictures can be misleading, I negotiated a price and began my work. As soon as I removed the twisty bolts on the boot panel I noticed the original Altia inverter ! Anyway, still with my poker face carefully I removed all 3 pieces, got a few more bits off the old girl that were very tidy, I plan going back as I was not blessed with much time. Got home and plugged it in - happy days, not sure what I'm going to do with the 26 year old item :cool3:.

Does any know what is the size of the Halo / Angel Eyes required for the 99 Spec replica headlight insert? Any recommendations where I can get one? I would prefer LED type but may consider a Solid ring in white. I know the HALO/Angel eyes look good with the normal headlight inserts, how does it look with the 99-Spec headlight insert?

2 £6 parts can make, had the annoying tailgate rattle for a while so i placed a couple of small pieces of vinyl from my retrim under each one as a test and it reduced it considerably. so i bit the bullet and bought 2 new tailgate bump stop rubbers, the difference, was quite a surprise the old rubbers had gone hard where the new ones are pretty soft but where the old ones have compressed there was a 4-5mm height difference between new & old. result is no more tailgate rattle! part number for the rubbers is 90878-30P02 if you are thinking of changing them.

Hi Guys, So I decided to give my paint a bit of attention today seeing as I am sprucing up the interior - I bought a rotary buffer, and some polished and compounds from halfords. i wasn't expecting too much, but the finish has completely removed the swirl and any small scratches from the car! Actually really impressed on my test panel and will be applying this to the whole car next week. I used G3 professional paint renovation after a full wash and polish from the local garage, buffed that over the panel for a couple of minutes. Wiped down with a microfiber, and then polished with an auto glym super resin to leave a deep dark shine. So yeah very impr…

So I fitted what I could of my exhaust today, backboxes, centre section with H-pipe. When it came to the 2 front sections that come down from each turbo, I found one side would not fit. I'm putting this down to them being modified to fit the old turbos and manifolds. So what is it I'm actually looking for, decat pipes? Is there a difference between SWB and LWB?

..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300Zx-Fairlady-Z-Breaking-For-Spares-/381418645786?hash=item58ce52a91a It's missing the tailpiece badges that sit on the sides of the tips. I am not 100% sure as you can't see the main badges on the cans, but this could be a Veilside system - I know there are a few people looking for these.

Hi guys I'm delighted to say I am now back on the road in my Z :cool3: She's been off the road since Dec 20th last year and to be honest was running like shit for several months prior to that What finally killed her (I thought) was the piston rings failing when I went up to Blackpool to a christmas Do - but according to Lee Dent who stripped her down it was actually two pistons melted!! And to think I actually limped it all the way back from Blackpool to Stoke in that condition! Says something for the resilience of these cars I guess. Anyway I now have my original engine back in place, not the one that Noz sold me. The original engine always see…
