That the GT-R is an awesome machine has never been in doubt, and as a life-long Nissan fan, I've always been very proud of it. The looks however have always disappointed for a car of this stature, especially in photos. Seen a few on the road, and they are certainly far more impressive. This weekend however, I happened to be in West Way Nissan in Aldershot and got the oppoerutnity to look at one very, very close. It was the new 2011 model and I have to say that up close and personal, I was incredibly impressed. It's big; much bigger than you would imagine. The build and finish is also outstanding and easily as good as anythin…

Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife. A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Tazer for their anniversary submitted this: Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized Tazer. The effects of the Tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety...?? WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home... I loaded two AAA batterie…

Anyone else noticed how tyre prices have shot up loads over the last couple of months? Only 2 months ago I noticed one of the tyres on Julia's Rav was getting a bit low but my garage said it was perfectly fine for a couple of thousand miles. Back then a replacement was just under £100 (Bridgestone Dueller 235/60/16). Now that the snow has arrived I was thinking about replacing it (plus one other) sooner, before the VAT increase next month. Suddenly the price is up at £116 to £121 from the same online mobile fitters! I also checked Event Tyres and E-tyres prices for a pair of Goodyears for the ZX. Last year I bought the 265/35/18 Asymetrics for £176 each; …

... whenever I have to go on a long drive somewhere, somewhere with good roads, motorway driving and country lanes rather than just local roads with pot holes and traffic lights, that I'm always in the people carrier picking something up rather than the Z!?!?!? Tomorrow I'm driving to Lincoln to pick up my ECU and Plenum from Baz and then over to North Anston in Sheffield to pick up a bed for my son. If it weren't for the damn bed, I could have driven down in the 300ZX! Wonder if I could get away with it with the missus, take the Z down to Lincoln to pick up the Z stuff, then back to Doncaster and then take the bus to Sheffield for the bed? Doubting it with the …

I was involved in a small accident on Thrusday where someone pulled out in front of me (in my Challenger 4x4). There wasn't much speed involved as it was in Brent Cross car park but his door (Honda accord) was completely caved in (would just about open it from the inside with a shove). I didn't think much of it, just reported it to my insurance for them to deal with. This morning at around 3 or so I woke up with the room spinning as soon as I moved my head and I can't walk in a straight line from the room spinning. I've just thought that I must have an ear infection or something but my Mum just popped round and said could it be anything to do with the accident. Googl…

It was my friend's funeral today and even though is was a very sad day, also really lovely too, obviously a well loved man. Not ashamed to say, there was a lot of tears. Anyway, I'm not religious in any shape or form but the strangest thing happened. Now, the weather in London is just grey clouds at the moment with rain all day yesterday and on and off today. The main part of the funeral was over and the priest was just saying the final prayers when all of a sudden, the whole church brightened up with sunshine, flooding through all the windows. Then about a minute or two later, sun was gone and it's not shone for the rest of the day. I've not found God or anythi…

For those of you who know diesels, what's the situation regarding the life of turbos on these cars and how much can they cost to replace? We know that turbos on petrol cars can be troublesome (especially on older cars), but with diesels so popular and having such high mileages, is the situation the same or do they last much longer? Thanks.
