A friend recently got hold of a bit of a bargain (an Alfa 155 - my other car love) but it was in need of a little TLC. So, he dropped it off at my place a little while ago, and today I set to it. Due to the image limit on here, here is a link to the 155 owners forum with a full image write up - 7 hour Mega Detail!! Hope you like :D

This letter was sent to ther Bristol evening post and published, the writer needs a medal imho. Where did it all go wrong? T ODAY we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: ● Knowing when to come in out of the rain; ● Why the early bird gets the worm; ● Life isn't always fair; ● Maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies, (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable str…

Does anyone here own one? Or driven one? Im currently in the market for one but dont know which to go for... There are far fewer 535d`s about which begs the question - why? Also they are twin turbo charged so can possibly be more expensive if they go wrong... Cheers, Dan

I've just done some work for a friend on a Mk2 Clio, it failed on a bunch of things, including off side brake light out, and centre high level not working. Now, the centre high level is a sealed LED unit, which is 30 odd quid + VAT, if the other 2 brake lights are working, will it still fail? Is it a case of 'if it is there it has to be working'? Can I just take it out and leave a hole there for the MOT? Cover it up with gaffer tape? It's booked in for tomorrow, just wondering if it'll pass! Cheers, Tudor...

  6. Its another rental property nightmare :cursing: I got a call from one of my tennants saying that her partner had lost it and tried to rape and kill her. Apparantly they had not been getting on very well and he had agreed to leave in a week or something when he came home drunk and tried to rape her. He then started smashing the place up, she managed to call the Police and run outside. The baby was inside the house and he was screaming at it while smashing stuff up. When the Police arrived he would not open it so they smashed the door down. I went out there and the double glazed door is ruined and there is a lot of damage to the property. I have Landlords b…

Took the kids down to the car today, so i could clean it out and also get my drivers side wheel, some what straight. Anyway, daughter is in the drivers seat and im working away, after, i decided that the roof needed to come off the car as the sun was out, while i cleaned it, then gave her a little start. while shes sat there on tick over, and im going around the car making sure all my bulbs are working, i hear my daughter "bruuuuum brummmmm", so i pop my head round the tail gate to see my daughter sitting in the drivers seat, steering wheel in hand, cant see over the horn button, realising the car is still running, i turned the key and took them out. only for her to…

For you guys 'n gals running newer cars as well you can monitor what your car is doing, to quite an elaborate extent, with not much more than your mobile phone!! For the iPhone/iPod Touch there is REV (http://www.devtoaster.com/products/rev/) which is available from The App Store and for you Android users there is Torque (there own web site is crap, but this'll give you the info http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f76/android-folks-who-uses-torque-obd-ii-readings-76604/) which is available from Android Market Place. Both of them work on a similar basis, basically displaying on your phone screen various (you decide which) readouts from your on-board OBDII dia…

With my Merc sadly written off long before it's time, it's been time to move on. Thought I'd try something different and got this 2 weeks ago. It's a Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 Sport. The wheels make interesting reading; 17" on 235 tyres!

Hi Guys, As above, what i'm after is an insert to my left shoe/trainer/slipper whatever i wear. Due to already documented damage to sciatic nerve, my heel and sole area and especially inbetween, is VERY susceptible to pain if i tread on a pebble/stone even a pea (i must be a price (cess??) ) so i'm thinking, instead of wearing 6 pairs of socks, cushion soles and that insole that stops smells... if i had a flat rigid insert..size 9 left, it could prevent my problem. I have no access to machine tools/guillotines/material so i need the help of someone who does. suggestions on material etc will be gratefully rec'd. Material costs i can cover, Alcohol for …
