got a letter through from the department of work and pensions saying i owe them £96.63. called them and they said i took a crisis loan out at the benifits centre back in 2006 against my wages that wasnt paid. i couldnt even tell you where the benifit office is. aparently i signed for it and the address i gave was Cardroom Operative i know where that is its just round the corner from my mum but have never stayed there. got to phone the benifits centre tomorrow to investigate this further:censored::cursing:

  12. Ha… I could not believe my ears this morning when I heard a report on the BBC news that: “The increase in oil (petrol & diesel) prices was a good thing for some people.” What a stupid thing to say!!!…. Of course the increase is good for some people, a very few, very rich people and the oil industry! To everyone else all their living costs will increase higher that any pay rise they will get, not to mention the added weight of the duty (stealth tax) on these fuels. The same stupid comment could be used on “any” price increases or even unjust actions…. “Someone always benefits”. How that could be considered a news worthy item or even a wise thing to say…

Some of you might know i bought a cheap little mk4 escort a couple of month back just to run around in. Well i'm on holiday in cornwall at the moment and i got a phonecall from my mother last night. My escort has been stolen. From outside our own house! I just cant believe it! Was in brilliant condition and only just past 70k, serviced it last week, put a new starter on it. It was spot on! I would be out looking for them if i was at home! Probably a good job i'm on holiday....:cursing::cursing::cursing:

Just looked at Baz thread re old money. HAve you ever found stuff of value that other people didnt know about. Heres one for you. At a car boot sale a few years back at Matchams in Dorset. i first saw a nice wooden box in perfect condition, looked like walnut. opened it, my eyes lit up, as there was an old fly fishing wheel inside, on closer inspection, under the velvet was a bill of sale. AT this point i started shaking, after a bit of haggleing with the old lady, i bought the box and reel for £12. Had to run to the car, with girlfriend following, she states Stu you only do carp fishing, why have you bought that crappy fly reel. "Because, this crappy fly …

Anyone else find them good for some Zed items and then WAY OVERPRICED on others, gets to me as i'm sure some will pay it thinking goods cannot be sourced through another method abar e-bay, i do hover on there and have a few future watched items i want to get Zed wise but all in all i dont really rate it for Zed parts and nearly always find our own traders to be better and cheaper!!! one example> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310133663373 is he joking i dont see two hear but i'd expect a second for that price!

I found a load of old paperwork today, some dating back to early 1800s, all local stuff! anyway the prices on them are like £3:8:9 or £1.6.7 what does that mean? heres some pics if anyone is remotely interested! I was the first person to look inside this folder for 160 years :euro: fancy letter heads and writing! theres a few of these- obviously staples werent invented then! and being a bit of a plumber it was interesting to see an invoice for 2 toilet syphon cisterns from 1894!
