Anyone got anyexperience in this area. I need to get a large item transported from Glasgow to me in Essex. Item is only about 50kg but 1.4m x 1.35m x 1.1m in size. DHL quoted me £650 as due to the size it get put under the 400kg category. :helpsmilie: I've worked out that 2 day van rental + deisel is only about £300. + 15 hours of my life which I won't get back. I've also considered the train from London to Glasgow and meet and greet van rental from there. But all the rental places seem to close at 12:00 on Saturday and are not open on Sunday so no good for me as I need to do this on a weekend only. Any idea's links or suggestions?

Right, After nearly 8 years i've decided to upgrade my beloved MTB frame for this : As you can tell from the picture its an Ellsworth Momentum worth close to 2k. Imported to the UK by an Ellsworth Employee / Racer it will be in my hands by this time next week. The reason for the upgrade is my old frame just cannot take the stress and roughness of my current ride style with my being going on more vigorous rides. For one i'm shiting myself thinking it will snap in half at certain parts of the track. And talking of tracks, after a complete rebuild; transfering my rockshox u-turn front suspension, wheels, Juicy Carbon brakes and …

Following my earlier thread regarding the crap bradband and crappier customer service I received from TalkTalk, I have now ditched them. For good!! I always kept my telephone with BT and have just switched my internet to them as well. And whilst I still live at the arse-end of the exchange, it seems BT can deliver a much faster braodband service. Over 10 times faster to be exact - and that's at peak time, with the suggestion that it might also improve after a 10 day "bedding in" period!! It was so easy to connect and activate their home-hub jobbie too. I was back online within about 10 minutes, without a hitch.... .....Plus I can sign up to their fibre-opti…

Just read this on another forum. Helps to put what happened on the M5 into context, if like me, you get outraged when the police seemingly close the motorway to assist a deflated tyre on the hard shoulder. Anyway - it's difficult not to be moved by this story, have a read and see what you think. http://minimumcover.wordpress.com/2011/09/16/and-then-there-was-silence/

Was down at shakespeare county raceway with a few friend in the MeisterR R32 GTR and thought this video was a bit funny. :) Was still staging when the marshall drop the light, so my friends got a 3.4 seconds head start on me... But manage to catch up to him by the end and beat him by 0.039 of a second (thats is 39 milliseconds)! It wasn't a real race, but it was just funny to catch up and still cross the line first from such a massive head start. The run itself isn't any good either with wheel spin in most of first gear... I uploaded a few more video so join our channel at: http://www.youtube.com/user/MeisterRcoilovers Of course, you can a…

Just wondered if anyone who rents out property, are you allowed to rent it out and act as a business? What I mean is say you earnt £2000 a month, so £24k a year and you take off maintenance/repairs/loan repayments, you would only pay tax on the difference? Would that be the best way of trying to rent out a premises? Cheers Vijay

This is just a link to a thread with some very nice pics of an R35 GTR which has been subject to a full paint correction and detail. If you read it you'll see a major cause of the problem is the use of a car cover. It is one I share if the car is left outside as even if they are 'strapped' down they will rub against the paint work and any contaminents will gradually mark your paintwork. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/137042-nissan-gt-r-swirl-city.html This is my personal standpoint and not meant to upset anyone. Just worth thinking about imo.

So it's been said that I'm bullish in my behaviour and inspire gang-like actions. I'd like to formally apologise to the membership of this forum if that's how I've come across, it is most certainly not intended. As some of you know me personally, you will know I always try to be a nice person, helpful and I'll do just about anyone a favour if I can, even if it leaves me out of pocket or in an awkward position. That doesn't seem to be apparent when on the forum however. I stand by some of the things I've said, and with no names mentioned, I'm far from the only one to blame for some of what's gone on, however I'd like to stand up and admit my part in it and take r…
