As title, sold another one of our rental properties in England after we were approached by an agent suggesting the area had seen a 25% increase in prices, accepted a very quick offer end of July, and completed last Monday, that is almost 5 months !! the legals who are in charge of this process seem to work in in slow motion, very short chain of three, our property empty of course. The hassle and stress must be unbearable for those actually moving home, to us it was a business deal, so not sentiment just frustration as we had to fly back to deal with some bits and the last four weeks were repeatedly yes it is on for Friday to be followed a few hours later by no not …

The heavens have opened over the Algarve this evening and jeez the hell of all storms rampaged across the sky`s the months of awaited rain coming down in just a few hours is mental, thunder and lightning, power outages all over, reports of major flooding coming in thick and fast, lightning strikes seem to be hitting domestic house supply cables and blowing up tv`s routers etc. Bombeiros, GNR and rescue crews out in force, a good night to be inside for sure, we had a 2 hours power outage followed by a power surge that shook the villa killing the power, lucky all sensitive equipment pugged in through surge protectors !! gonna be a long night !! I know there are reports that the false widow spider has been in the uk for around 200 years but until about 4 or 5 years ago i had never seen one where i live in essex. I have done alot of work on my property since buying it in 2005. I demolished old outbuildings and sheds and never once came across a false widow...... Now i am seeing them everywhere, they are hiding in every little crack and crevice around the roof line of the house, the sheds, the workshop. I have to check the kids toys in the garage before the kids touch them. I see them everywhere at work too. I see them under customers cars while im working on them too. I am now seeing nati…

So again the car meet close to me was busy and buzzing with all sorts of vehicles, the turn out was really ggod with both car owners and visitors, encouraged by the sunny November weather. First show for some cars, including a lhd Aston Martin Lagonda and it was huge, goodness knows how they thought it would fit in to normal use on Uk roads?? Renault Alpina, very rare and very nice and a friends BMW 635 csi all in a great day, topped off with lunch at a local restaurant with friends. Enjoy ... Jeff

Just a quick one for anyone who’s looking for insurance quotes in the near future. I just spent a bit of time on the phone reading out the spec of my car in order to get a new quote, to which I was asked the question “are you planning on taking the car on track?” , to which I replied “yes, maybe once or twice a year”. Their reply was “Sorry we cannot offer you cover as you plan on taking you car onto a track”. My response was “I could take any private car on track, what’s the difference here?” To which I couldn’t get a straight answer. I’ve never had this issue before, and frankly I think it’s ludicrous! So a warning to those, if you’re asked if you …

Genuine business question, if you were about to pull the trigger on a business deal with a company and found their Companies House credentials had some flaws what would you think / do? This information is in the public domain and can be seen by all so no issue with privacy or data protection, popped a screen shot below, there is more but it reveals personal details so cropped out, it looks worrying to me.. thoughts please. I'm sure everyone is aware I had my one piece prop stolen. Well, jimmer contacted me recently & said he still had the one Lee asked him to make & would I like it for free which was really kind of him. So my slicktop now has a one piece prop fitted which has helped ease the pain of losing my Z1 prop. Shows there still decent people out there. Thanks again mate.

I think this post will cause a lot of arguments & i may possibly lose a few friends but its all true. Im not one for getting involved in arguments but ive got to make people aware of whats been going on recently. My swb has been with a zed specialist and very good friend Lee Dent. He got it back on the road, which wasnt easy. The car was missing a few major parts including a prop shaft. I managed to find one on facebook, a z1 lightweight prop so i was really happy to find that. i dropped it at Lee Dents not long after receiving it in the post. About 4 months later, after a lot of crap with the swb it was finally ready so i collected it & dropped my lwb off with Le…
