FFS! Why don't people just stick to using Exceed...why? Coz the company is a cheapskate MO FO who refuses to pay $400 for an Exceed license! Arggghhhh. Q1. Does anyone know bugger all about Cygwin user config or host connection problems? Q2. What is going on here? User tries to connect to one of our HP boxes and this little error blings up in a dos window and the connection closes. Your group is currently "mkpasswd". This indicates that the /etc/passwd files should be rebuilt. See the man pages for mkpasswd and mkgroup then, for example, run mkpasswd -l [-d] > /etc/passwd mkgroup -l [-d] > /etc/group Note that the -d switch is necessary fo…

I've had a word with the local LPG engine gasser chaps and they say that they could put LPG onto my NA Jap Spec Auto. It would give me about the equivalent of 40 mpgs with a minimal loss of power. He has all the tech specs. About £1200...Any comments or reasons why I shouldn't??

For anyone who is slightly interested ..... ;) ...... I'm no longer having the used OEM spoiler fitted to my boot lid. This is due to not being able to have all the ripples flattened :( So instead I'm having the holes filled and a perspex panel, with brake light, fitted :D courtesy of Luke at the ZCentre Having found out that to have a replica spoiler fitted is quite a lot of work, and having been running around without a spoiler for a while now, I quite like the idea of not having one at all. So the car will go into the bodyshop next week, and a trip over to Lukes as well to pick the panel up.................... Then by the end of the week, it'll l…

I had a massive crash on my puter the other day which resulted in its death...I have resurrected it but now get a prob with this bloody pop up thingy (see pic) and others!!. Am running latest mcafee virus/firewall on Windows XP and formerly think I had a virus which is what must have killed it. (dont know how it got on here.) I started from scratch again so think that any gremlins should have been deleted. Tried Ad aware(latest update), spybot(as before) and of course done a full scan. found a few things but it keeps comming up...oops, theres another one just popped up. Do I just need a pop up blocker or shall I let it meet with an unfortunate accident? Any hel…

Ok, how many of you respectable people f\/ck off to the pub at lunchtime? Me and my mate are having a bad day, we were saying that if we were working in Amsterdam we could bugger off to a cafe for lunch and get stoned instead. Then back to work and it would be "Hello dude, what seems to be the problem man?" and how funny it would be to walk back into the office after emptying the crisp machine coz of the munchies. Sitting back down with 40 bags of cheese and onion, 20 mars bars, 15 bags of McVities mini chocolate cookies and 10 packets of Starburst! 'ave it! LOL :hyper:

Your having a cheese party and everyone whos anyone is coming (In the high profile world of cheese of course), what cheese's do you bring out to tempt them into staying for the after cheese karaoke? Its that age old question again and I'm sorry to bring it up once more, but I just want an answer this time, not like last time with all the bickering and that incident with the kippers.

Just been thinking, when I insured my car I had to tell them I had no alarm cos I'm missing the fitting certificate for my cat1 that is fitted. cost about £80 more for the insurance.. (hyperformance) Friend who just got a boxster didnt bother renewing the tracker subscription cos the insurance company (adrian flux) said it made bugger all difference to the cost of the policy!!!! Cos with a tracker it's pretty much impossible to get away with the car! I'm more than a bit surprised that with all the hype around approved alarms and gizmo's like trackers why it doesnt really make much of a dent in policy prices!!! Anybody else have similar or opposite experienc…

(Well, is it ripping my girlfriend off to be specific...) Is it possible to inspect engine internals without dismantling the engine? This garage reckon one of the cylinders is scored, but it turns out they haven't taken the engine to bits at all- I'd have thought you at least have to remove the head. They are also saying that labour to mend the engine would be prohibitive and it's cheaper to buy a new engine at £1200 + labour (Vauxhall Astra, not a Zed!) Before she put it in to a garage, everyone I spoke to said it would be probably valve stem oil seals (puff of smoke on start-up, generally going through oil about 1L a month). What do you reckon? …
