General Discussions - Non 300ZX

An off topic forum has been created in place of rant club, rant club/fight club and its numerous names has always been meant for this content, now its been renamed to less specific name in order to allow members to post the sht they wat, anything posted in the general forum that should go to the off topic forum will just be locked and not moved, general discussion is still for general discussion, it just isn't for silly poo related posts ect,

ok, i have a completely standard Zed. As most of you probably know the auto is dead so i have no power at the minute however . . . . . . Once i convert it to a manual i will then have a standard manual TT and i can settle the dispute as to what BHP they actually have. Who would like to know? :D

I've managed to get 300 miles :hyper: out of a full tank of petrol, usually i only manage 235 - 245, i have been on the motorway abit which has helped, whats your best record?

Was browsing the local rag today and came across a Z for sale, went something like''300zx, black, grey leather,Mot sept 06, body tatty but not rotten!'' Now I'm guessing it's an n/a cos' it don't say otherwise! but given the description how much do u think? :confused: Come on , don't be shy!.........

Just wanted to say a couple of thank you's, firstly to Darren and Daniel at D2 Vehicle Services in Rochester for supplying and fitting the manual conversion in two and a half days, also for fitting my decats. Also wanted to say thanks to Smithy, who didnt have stock of the clutch and flywheel, but got them on order and then sent direct to the garage and they arrived 24 hours before I arrived for the work done. Well impressed with the manual box, looking forward to summer now and a little enthusiastic driving :) Barry

Well, drew all the pipes and tubes etc needed to make up the rad hoses, sat at the 'puter and began to order the silicone hoses and join tubes etc. Time I'd done the total was £168!! :eek: -Fook that for a bag of spanners, going to get some stainless bent-much cheaper! ;) Oh!, and whilst on the subject, how can anyone justify £26 for a 90 degree bent piece of 21/2 inch steel pipe!-robbin' feckers!

oh christ not to start an auto v manual :headvswal :x: but what is the auto like around a track day, would love to go on the track but not sure with all those high speed turns and downshifts, anyone here fitted one of those shift at will thingies to there autobox, so you can change gear at will :rofl: :rofl: p.s no sly comments from u manual boy's :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Had a right day yesterday. I've been ill since the day before anyhow so wasn't feeling all that good. I drove into town about 40mph on a 60mph because it was damp and had a bloke come out of a T-junction with out even looking. I threw the anchor out the window but it wasn't going to stop me in time so I pulled the hand brake too. The rear spun round and the car slid uncontrollably on the narrow country road, narrowly missing a van going the other way. I ended up against the hedge and the f*cking bloke carried on driving. Now I know exactly how Mick felt, although my woes are somewhat less serious, and TBH I'm glad to still be here. Was driving up to Nottingham on Friday, heading along the A14 towards the M1. Anyway, some miles after the Spittles interchange at Huntingdon there's this gutter that runs right across the westbound carriageway (probably the eastbound as well but I didn't see). It's covered over with sections of concrete or metal, not sure which as I've never paid it much attention. I'm doing 70mph in the outside lane and am pulling back into the inside lane (I really was doing 70 -- there are too many speed cameras round there to be bothered looking out for them all …

..........I have learned a whole lot of facts about the 300ZX since I joined the forum and thanks to all for that but my curiosity is boiling over now and I need educating further please: Can someone give me a simple way to let me know exactly what boost to PSi is and how this is calculated maybe a comparison chart and what effects all this has on the performance of the car. Thanks. I know that boost is generated by the turbo's and that PSi i a measurement of pressure and the more you get the more power you generate. But thats just the basic effect not the facts of how it works. BTW. I posted it here by mistake...... :eek: :(

Just out of interest, at what point does a post become drivel and pointless? Surely that is a decition only INDERVIDUAL members can decide after reading a post. One mans drivel is anothers joy. Maybe there should be a poll on every post and if the drivel result gets more than 10 votes its closed? I read some posts and just have no interest at all with them, others I think are great. Just cos I don’t want to read someone’s post on "my new house I've bought" does not make it drivel! just the opposite of my other thread what makes you happiest about owning a 300zx

car has come back from Z-tech with a full repray new spoiler,skirts and 99spec front bumper. what do you all think. i think they done a wicked job so a big thanks to the guys :duffer: :duffer:
