  1. It only does it when i thrash or go long distance. im going to do the pcv valves first as i dont need the car at the moment as i can bike or run to work and see what happens-if it continues then its a stick it in a garage to do work job unfortunately as i havent got the quipment to drop a gearbox.
  2. Might as well change the PCVs anyway as everybody seems to and see what happens. Ive got an offer to use somebody's lift to see what/where the leak is but ive got to go to Suffolk to do it-to far in its current condition.
  3. The mains seal is fairly new on (5k ago) Im thinking if i replace the pcv valves and hoses i may be able to stop the leak resulting in not having to change the mains seal again ( if it is the RMS not the gearbox) Is it possible the RMS may be ok after i change the pcv valves.?
  4. Ok bud i will see what develops over the next few weeks. waiting on an engine first then start looking for uprated bits Will be needing the knowledge of the big power guys soon i hope!
  5. Im about to join this engine rebuild malarkey this winter with a spare motor-hope you get sorted bird-i dont know how you have come this far with out taking a hammer to the Z!
  6. Just out of interest how much for the heads and whats good about them?
  7. All thse offers!lol I dont know what i need as i havent got an engine to rebuild yet lol But thanks for the offers though guys!
  8. Chers bud i will bear in mind-I just want to go all out as much as i can afford on the internals and make it as strong as i can-also really detail the engine with as much stainless and paint as i can. I want to keep my Z for many years and getting a sorted engine is the best thing i can do at the moment.
  9. I am thinking of buying an engine to rebuild over the winter in preparation for next year as im sick and tired of my poor looking one and equally disgusting bay area. hopefully i can get one to completel rebuild as a winter project using the best parts i can afford and have some fun while doing it with a little 'step by step rebuild thread' Just a thought... How much am i looking at for an engine and what should i be looking for
  10. how much-if any did you get on insurance?
  11. Im thinking ive buying an engine-sitting it on a engine stand completely stripping at rebuilding with with the best parts i can afford over the winter and put it in next year. then i can i can have a nice engine and sort outthe engine bay as well when the old ones out.i can then sell the old engine if its still running.
  12. ah so im not the only one who had this plan lol! worked for me! :hyper:
  13. had it happen big time today while out on a thrash-the worst its ever happened where i could actually see the smoke coming from behind the car while at 70mph!!!! Checked the oil that i found under the car and it appears to be autobox oil!im pretty sure that it is anyway! If anybody has got a pit or decent ramps around Norwich i can get a very low car onto it would be greatly aprreciated to solve this mystery
  14. no i need an ECU so i can drive my car while i get someone to socket it for a chip.
  15. im confused!ahh so i can put a manual ECU with a auto chip in my auto then.. correct me if im wrong.
  16. how about a manual ECU in an auto?
  17. I have got to get an uprated ECU first than i will make my decision.
  18. Will a Uk TT manual socketed chip fit on a Jspec TT auto? any help aprreciated. Adam
  19. The reason why i asked cuz the ones i saw on Ebay seem to be hexagonal in diameter-surely they wouldnt fit in pipe without air getting past flat sides of the tip? I know you can get round diameter ones so i will get some of tham instead-trying to track down a replacement ECU first tho that can handle the boost.
  20. i was going to ask if there wheels where salvagable-til i saw 2nd pic TBH mate it would take a hell of a lot to get it back on the road and im too sure if you would get anywhere near 1k to make it worth it to buy to break
  21. I want at least 75%
  22. might work-who knows?
