  1. Had exactly the same thing on my Skyline (which runs same calipers) tried two different pairs of pads and made sure copper grease etc....Got a friend to skim and take a thou off and cured the problem.
  2. About 10.30 today just past Eaton garage on outer ring road.i flashed the lights and you waved back.Anyone on here? (and if you are wondering why i had the targa panels off its cuz its the last time im going to drive the Zed for a while as its going into garage for works on tues! lol) :hyper:

  4. Mines up for sale soon. 1991 Eunos Roadster 1.6, 1 UK owner-me! recent camblet, belts etc, BBS alloys etc. Needs tidying-centre console cracked, needs a stereo, looking for bout 2.5l with 12 months MOT
  5. Is that with the guys from http://www.skylineowners.com?They are good lot a lads.I took my Skyline on a dyno day they ran at SCA not too long ago and i was made most welcome from the forum. Anyway i might attend just too watch if my engines sorted by then.My cars more of a straight line weapon (well will be lol) two car convoy then Neil lol..
  6. Deffo clean the coilpack connectors.Cant do any harm giving the a good clean up.i had a missfire on one cylinder, cleaned the first connector i came across-problem solved-proceeded to clean the rest as a preventitive measure.
  7. Yes boldy my nose panel looks similar to yours. When the water enters the mesh it drips down inside and ends up on the filter.I also got a problem with water settling in the plastic undertray.Just drilled a few holes to let water out but not too big to let in water coming in from below. Will make a better 'water deflector' after the rebuild methinks.
  8. My Skyline was an auto that sounded quite stupid with BOV so put a recirlic back on.As SkylineDave said sounds very odd letting foot off gas to get the noise then carry on in same gear.
  9. I know its a completely different car but my Eunos roadster was all over the road when i got it.new set of yres and laser alignment cured it all straight away.
  10. sorry to hear about this Chunk.ive only been on this forum a couple of weeks and seen how helpfull people are towards one another on this forum..you can count on us.Times like this i realise the problems ive got in my life arent nothing compared to others.Chin up mate.
  11. thanks for the advice guys.im currently thinking of stripping down my Zeds engine myself to do the big end job and learning as i go along.who knows could be a zed specialist in a few years lol
  12. Not the way it is at the mo as its very poorly.lol
  13. yes in the proceeds of lookin around for prices. At the end of the day it looks like my track day car (eunos) will have to be sold to fund the project, which im a bit relunctant to do.if theres a way around doing that im willing to explore it.At the moment im not too concerned about getting it done asap cause i normally bike to work anyway.
  14. I know some of you know i have a bit of a dillema with my engine at the mo.. anyway rather than get the big end bearing and crank replaced ive been looking into getting a recon engine in exchange instead. After all i dont know what other damage my Zeds motors got wrong with it.it had a rebuild under 30,000 miles back but has gone wrong again.Either the bearings were not replaced first time or somebody has treated it badly since the rebuild. Ive came across this company who have offered this service http://www.enginesdirect.com/index.shtml for a recon 300ZX TT engine for 1795.00 inc vat fitted.Obviously all the ancillaries will come from my engine but has anybody dealt with this company and offer any advice
  15. I see 300zx ownership requiring as much commitment as marriage.well thats what i will be thinking when i get the engine rebuild bill.haha
  16. Im having a bit of a career crisis at the moment and thinking why shouldnt i do something i know i would love.Obviously my first love is performance cars (dont let the missus read this lol) but how the hell do i get involved in this sorta thing bearing in mind i have absolutely no experience and little knowledge of the motorsport industry.Anything like dyno operator, performance engine rebuilder etc.Any advice guys?
  17. Ive got an engine rebuld that needs doing first so will try 5-40w when its finished
  18. The Mazda Eunos will be sold to fund my addiction.Just waiting for Z tech to mail me back with a pick up/delivery charge.
  19. i had my worst fear confirmed by Gary at APT Tuning at Lenwade...... .the big ends are on the way out and will also require a new crank and has recommended a engine rebuild.Ive decided to stand by my Zed (in the hope i will have a strong engine at the end of this ordeal)but just waiting for him to price it up.Any body else know of any reputable Mechs in or around Norwich area who could tackle it?
  20. Thanks for advice
  21. 5-40w fully synthetic okay for a 300tt?
