  1. mmmmm independent throttle bodies!! I had them on an Astra GTE 16v i had many moons ago, added almost 50bhp! plus they sounded AWESOME! Like a dragon roaring in a cave :)
  2. lol i like how your the only guy that thinks about stopping once its going faster :) a wise man here indeed! :)
  3. oh and it didnt burn any oil from that side at all, because it was starved, banjo connector was clogged somehow
  4. turbo nailed mate, I guarantee it, ive had the same myself in the past, got oil starvation on one side for some reason and the turbo died within 100 miles, like a clanking rattling sound...took the intake pipe off, about half inch of play in the fooker lol
  5. no dude they are slightly smaller, hence the name, underdrive
  6. tps and check timing, had this myself, base timing was out by about 10 degrees (retarded)
  7. look at it this way, with the amount of stuff you have replaced, when its is all working sweet nothing should break for a LONG time lol
  8. if its any kinda conselation dude, I finally got mine working to good degree :) all i need to sort out now is a radiator and it should be sorted, havent had quite the problems you have but ive had enough! In the past 3 months ive got through 4 head gaskets, 2 heads (BOTH split! :o), blown oil seals, split cast on the oil filter neck (pissing oil out), constant over heating, and knackered turbos....think thats it...took it for its first proper drive in a LONG time last night and it was great, found myself on an empty carpark hehe, you know what came next...so if u keep at it you will get there buddy :) *Just a bit of support for bird here*
  9. :( a slicktop too :( gutted for you mate
  10. mines been doing this recently, might be the same for you, was running down on power only just found out what it could be after checking loads of stuff, intake cam on passenger side bank out 1 tooth (mystery), will cause all kindas issues when not on boost being out by one tooth as its mainly relying on vacuum to pull the air in instead of being forced. so maybe check out your cam timing.
  11. is that where you think your oil is leaking from? I had exaclty same problem from that part, small crack in the housing and the pressure was blowing the oil through at a tremondous rate. thing is, when you strip it to get at it (involves a head off :headvswal ) you cant easily see the crack/s had 2 of them blighters split on me since Z ownship so must of been a bad casting batch at somepoint in time.
  12. off the road still :( 18 months worth of off the road :( but will be all done this week :) (was a strip down to a shell then rebuilt) :D
  13. good point, but theres reliable every day, and theres reliable more than once a season :p
  14. lot of TLC is takin the P**S lol thats all its had for the past year and still it wants more...i thought my ex missus was bad for that :) havent got the time or money to fix it again should it turn out be something serious
  15. well to be perfectly honest ive had it with it, its been sat in a garage for the best part of 12 months, and every time ive fixed something, its been out for a week tops and then something else has gone bust...over and over. ive spent nigh on 3 grand in the past year just on keeping on top of the things going wrong, i could have bought another one for that...just have no faith in it now at all :( just want one I can drive, reliably again, instead of this constant money pit in and out of the garage all the time.
  16. doesnt leak when not running! tried to do that already, and just cant tell, it just sprays everywhere from 'somewhere' on the driverside of the engine and thats as acurate as i can pin point it :(
  17. well its not filter, not oil cooler pipes, not turbo pressure pipe, not turbo return pipe, so im stumped, theres no where else in that area that could blow that much oil out in such a short space of time....it did it again today, 10 secs worth of tick over and about a litre was spat out. so i give up with it, will just buy another car and break this thing ive wasted so much money on.
  18. checked these, they are fine and dandy :)
  19. ahh, blow another filter to bits ;)
  20. great...so whats the course of action to check a relief valve thats always been just fine, anyone know?
  21. hmm could be that then...guess ill get a new filter and see weird tho that it should pop a filter seal all of a sudden :(
  22. checked that too, just had a closer look and it seems to be coming from around the filter area from what I can tell so maybe it is that filter, just wouldnt have thought it would throw that much out that quick
  23. it all pumped out THAT quick too?
  24. well 3-4 litres in 30 odd secs, gotta be a big pop somewhere :( so im ruling out turbo feed pipes, even at 60psi dont think they could pump that much out that quick. no aftermarket oil sender stuff on there, oil cooler pipes are on ok too
  25. Could someone perhaps advise me where on the VG engine it could possibly drop 3-4 litres of oil from within 30 secs? Got in the car this afternoon, kicked it up, drove 10 yards and heard a liquidy hissing/spluttery noise, 20 secs later oil pressure dropped to 0, so pulled over. looked in the road and theres a 50 meter streak of oil, a peek under the car and i saw a nice puddle of oil and it was all dripping off the subframe! :( Ive had a good look underneath and I cant figure for the life of me where it all could have come from, and so fast :( any ideas? Really had enough now, lots of time and money spent over the past couple months and my lucks getting as bad as birds.....seriously considering just breakin it :(
