Not updated this for a while. Had some bodywork done on the car, leather interior fitted, car had a water leak from the waterpump so new waterpump and thermostat have been fitted and a Thatcham 1 alarm has been fitted for added security. Few more things to sort out yet - heated rear window does not and reverse lights don't work as well. I suspect that is a faulty reverse light switch. Some pics below of what it looks like now.

Hi phill Thanks for the info Luckily enough I manage to source a set of uk manual TT clocks and replaced them a few weeks back. It has sorted the problem so hope these work fine now as they are hard to find! Only issue now is I need to sort the mileage out as these clocks are on 90 and the car has done more. Apart from that I have had to change the water pump as it was leaking but no other issues and car is running well. Adam

Thanks for that Jeff Out of curiosity is zedworld still open? I used to bring my silver TT there around 2008 then I sold it to my mate Andy who brought it there before wrapping it up I am sure he sold it as spares or repairs to zedworld in 2010

At the moment the speedo is sat on 0 as i moved it back yesterday and will work occasionally. The problem has just started occurring - not sure if it has always been there historically as like i say ive only just bought the car.

I opened the cluster up and pulled the speedo needle back to 0 as it was stuck on 180 - it wasnt moving at all just sat at 180. Not sure if the needle has ever been removed as I have only owned the car for 3 weeks.

Sorry should have said earlier it's a uk car I took the cluster out last night and pulled the speedo needle back to 0 manually then took it for a drive and it came on after 25mph but was jumping then was ok then not registering etc so I am thinking more and more it may be the cluster

Guys The speedo on my 300zx seems to be malfunctioning and isn't displaying the correct speed e.g on my way to work this morning was showing 140! Now it is showing 180! I knew they were quick back in the day but doing 180 while stood is amazing for any car! Could it be the cluster or a sensor of some sort? Thanks in advance

Thanks pal yeah it's a nice motor Just need to get it sprayed as it looks like there 50 shades of black on at the moment! Apart from that car is good

Chaps Hoping you can help/advise. When I turn my side lights on without the key in the ignition, the sidelight come on fine. However, when I turn the ignition on or start the car and then turn the side lights on the n/s headlight comes on as well with the sidelights. When I put the headlights on then the o/s headlight comes on. I initially thought it may be an earth issue but don't think it can be as if it was then the issue would be there all the time regardless of having the key in the ignition. The car has an after market hid kit fitted and I have tried a normal bulb to see if this would solve the issue but the problem is still there. Any help appreciated Car is uk spec 93 Thanks
