so what % of these do we think will actually turn up?
  12. already purchased the divorced downpipes and the gt525's bolt straight on so i think they are the girlies for me!
  13. have you been to view the car?... i would not bid on a car that you have not seen, heard and driven. if the mileage is geniune then it could be the cause of a few of the problems but it seems shockingly low and as its an import id be questioning whether to trust it or not... your best bet is to get some1 who knows their stuff to go and view the car with you as bidding blind could turn out to be an expensive mistake!
  14. good point... and z1 are a very repuatble company in themselves. so the gt525's are warrantied by z1 unlike the new stock units they offer (that dont require a core charge) which are warrantied by garrett?
  15. thanks every1 for your help and advise... i think the gt525's are perfect for my requirements, although a little early in the mod stage, as all i really want is good reliable power. iv had this z for nearly a year now and have barely driven it so my philosophies have changed a bit in that id rather just have the car running reliably so i can get a nice summers worth of enjoyment out of it :) then again iv come out with a big bonus from all of this... although its cost alot of money to achieve at least everything is now fresh, new and good for many many miles... my bodywork is pretty immaculate so my final goal of what i want from a zed is getting closer... shame its still red
  16. you mean like someone told me to over and over again!  i cant argue tbh glenn as you are 100% right but the philosophy @ the time was that the standard tubs looked in good condition and i really wanted to get a year or so out of them to give me time to uprate the cooling, brakes, suspension etc beforehand... unfortunately this wasnt to be :( my car appears to be cursed and has had a failure of nearly every major mechanical component since i bought it... the turbos are now smoking on idle and my gearbox is crunching into 2nd and a bit in 3rd... i need to get the tubbies changed for the mot as it will not get though the emmisions like that... so its tail between legs and take the hit time :( im definately going to buy a 'new' set of tubs as the re-con game appears to be a bit of a lottery and i dont wanna be forking out for the engine out again...
  17. thats the nuts chris... well done matey, a serious prize that is... bet every1 else at work hates you now though lol! leave the z @ home and bring that old girl to Z008
  18. indeed.. good luck with the car and have a cracking bday matey
  19. just to confirm marco... im pretty sure il need 3 entrance tickets... 1 car pass and no track time :)
  20. Hellohah chappies and chappesses... I am looking to replace my smokey tubs but do not want the gamble of re-con units... i would like some advice from peoples experiences for what to go for... I dont want silly power, though my internals are forged. I dont want anything that requires special manifolds as i already have divorced downpipes and de-cats... i currently only have the standard injectors fitted but will be upgrading to 555's in the not too distant future. So basically, in reflection, i want to run a reliable 14ish psi without overstressing the tubs with the potential for a couple more as and when more fuel flow/cooling/braking etc becomes available! My initial thoughts and recommendations are in the form of the GT525's as these fall perfectly into the power band and are of a very sensible price... if any1 can shed some light as to the reliablility/lifespan/performance etc of these tubs that would be greatly appreciated, otherwise any other turbo recommendation that you have please dont hesitate to advise :D cheerZ in advance...

  22. you obviously know alot about turbos then
  23. ;) shame i cant photoshop it in real life... its having eibachs on it so tbh the drop might not be quite as much but we shall see... going to fit them sometime in the next week or so...
  24. a turbo is a jet engine in principle... without a combustion chamber just like old time jet propulsion
