  1. yeah i hear what your saying... though i was just hoping to get out of the palava of pre-jacking to get the jack in as im lazy... i would imagine youd have to go quite high with the std jack to get a reasonable bottle jack in? also, i really detest using that sill jack unless i really have to :( i think il go for something like this michelin jack and then look into getting a bottle jack to accompany it. as you said the way a normal trolley jack pulls itself along as it gets high is a pita and my drive doesnt let it roll smoothly. you got a link to the sort of bottle you use?
  2. the 1.5 tonne michelin racing jobbie will be ok though aye? its never gonna be suspending the cars weight entirely on el jacko as a good proprtion of the weight distribution and load spread will be going through the axle stand and the wheels still on tut ground. i agree you dont want to take risks and venture near max capacity but for all intents and purposes that 1.5 tonne michelin jobbie should be the nuts... feel free to shoot me down and air opinions if you think im a complete loser... oh and if you think im wrong!
  3. ooooh.. good price! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Michelin-Racing-Trolley-Jack-Aluminium/dp/B000V5BLBQ
  4. that looks like a gooden... i check that old girl out...
  5. its true... i bought that sandwich plate and dumped 50 quids worth of freshly glooped silkolene onto jimmers nice clean floor!
  6. sounds like just the sort of jack im after.. were there anymore on the shelf?
  7. what you got? or what you thinking of getting? or what do you think you might think about getting but you havent quite got round to deciding whether youve thought hard enough about what to get and therefore cant choose? or what did you have? and stuff... etc... recommendations
  8. iv already left... thats the beauty of this carpc... i can post whilst driving!
  9. joey ffs... stealing fuel is one thing... but stealing a full tanks worth of fuel and pissing another 70 quids worth on the floor is just taking the proverbial biscuit! or did you seek planning permission for a loft conversion on your fuel tank?
  10. your exhaust comes out the front?
  11. hes been conducting a fuel efficiency experiment for the last 2 years where he just drives around for coursework finding different mpg's in various conditions. of course the fuel is funded and endorsed from the college a bit like pens and bunsen burners! the experiment is due to last 48 years!
  12. if it was raining... si would have been in the zed!
  13. there isnt 1 spoiler available for the z that i like tbh... the 94+ one was my fav for a while but i have since gone off it... though i still like it on the darker coloured cars. always been my biggest dilemma :(
  14. most importantly... that kit is for a left hand drive vehicle! so items 8, 9, 14, 15 wont fit, maybe 10 + 11 also...
  15. how is the dead ahead setup with regards to zero steering angle? can it be a turn or 2 out when you set it up or does it reset after every shutdown startup? maybe get it on jimmers conzult if that gives you steering angle just to be sure everything is hunky doorey?
  16. happy days chap... same as mine :)
  17. your options would be to fit smaller studs or to grind down the existing ones for clearance.
  18. what he is saying is simon is that your existing oe wheel studs are longer than 20mm... therefore the end of the stud will be petruding from the wheel mounting face of the spacer once installed and will prevent your wheel from being fitted... make sense?
