  1. :confused: hello buddy, i have been having same sort of problem, it started of with hesitating at heavy acceleration after 30min driving, but now it does it even around 2000 revs, the other day on my way home it started hesitating, felt like miss fire heard a couple of popes and could smell some fuel then to make things scarier a red warning light came so i pulled over right a way :( switched it off for 10 min. then started up fine and drove home luckily i wasn’t far of. i just did an ecu check today and i got a code 21, which leads me to believe there is a problem with the PTU. i haven’t had time to look around does any one know how much they cost, and how easy is it to replace? :confused:

  7. Hello all :hyper: ... i have two questions: 1- i want to buy a new alarm/immobiliser system for my z, i am looking for something reliable but also cheap. Any ideas where i should look? 2- lately when i start my car i can here some sort of knocking and squeaking noise which speeds up with the engine revs until the car has warmed up, and then it goes silent, could this have anything to do with the type of oil i am using? "i bought the oil and oil filter from Nissan"??? :confused:
  8. yaaahooo :hyper: , thanks for the advise guys and spot on :bow: . There was something jammed inbetween the pad and the disc as when i reversed the car a little around 10m/h i heard a thump and then the noise vanished. i tried to take the wheel of but i couldn’t as they are custom alloys and i don’t have the right tool to open the wheel nuts. By the way do things get jammed inbetween the pad and discs quite often? And if it does is there any thing that i can do to prevent this form happening? :hyper:
  9. :confused: i was driving my 91 NA Manual Z home i got on to my road and then boom, i heard a some weird noises as if something was caught under the car, i stopped got out had a look there was nothing there, but as i started driving slowly again I could hear a nasty grinding noise coming from the back of the car, as if my break pads had gone and the breaks where pressed. i jacked the car up i can turn the back wheels by hand with a bit of effort and i can hear that grinding noise, the break pads are still there discs look to be fine, oh and I noticed that the noise increases when breaking. Any ideas, anyone????? :headvswal

  12. Thanks a lot for the link it was very helpful. I checked out the car carefully and found out that it was not a TT model. But the car seemed to be in very good shape and i drove it for about an hour. And finally got the seller to reduce the price quite a bit as i pointed out that it was the non-turbo model and i bought the car :). However i was checking it out this morning and when the car is started and in idle i can hear a weird sound coming from behind the pedals as if its a boiling kettle :@. Any ideas??? I live at west London near Ealing. Are there any 300zx club members in the area?
  13. Hello everyone... I am looking at buying a 300zx TT jap import, very soon. Its a 91 manual. With aprox 60k on the clock. I have done some research and made a checklist of things to look at, but i was wandering if there are any major technical things to look for. Anyone????
