What did you do to your zed today?
I've seen quite a few people have problems with these, ranging from the rear joint being too small and front bushing too wide, to them sounding clunky. You get what you pay for, but sometimes, buy it once and you don't have to buy it a second time if they fail

Have you made sure to give it a good tug? Often you can remove them by hand

A brand new '89 foam one

Rare parts thread
Is that legal though because to be translucent surely it must loose the reflective surface so won't be picked up as well by cameras?

Anyone got an Oculus Rift?
hmm, you realise that the rift has a 3.9m^2 play area (with the additional paid sensor which makes it more expensive than the vive) and the vive has a 12m^2 area. Vive is Valve backed compared to oculus facebook backed so for gaming i do think vive will have better gagming outcome but whatever thats not really comparing products. I just think that the Vive has a better technology and being a valve product (part of steam), it will have better support for gaming. The touches have only just come out so I can't compare the controllers, but the vive was extremely accurate and easy to use. But tomatoes tomatos pick what you prefer...

Anyone got an Oculus Rift?
Oculus really came off the forefront of VR recently, with inferior controls and tracking to the Vive, and too expensive compared to PSVR. Vive is best for PC with walking ability and motion controls, and camera tracking. Alot of support with hundreds of VR games on steam PSVR is good for games that you can sit down in and still play Mr wchestnutt can give you his opinion on the PSVR and his bathroom experience with Resident evil 7 I guess my question is what do you want to do/play with VR.

We'll get to that when there are no used parts left in the world.

"Why is my car on fire?" and other novice mechanic questions
In my case, I had the starter heat shield shroud over it, and you cannot get to some of the bolts without the exhaust off unfortunately. At least, On the garage floor it was almost impossible as there is a bolt right behind it. Maybe i'm just being stupid

Yes (hope this doesn't clogged up your thread) but I'm thinking about Mercedes alubeam silver Though maybe it's a bit extreme? Not sure yet.

Nice colour choice, I was considering a white like that with a subtle flake to it but changed my mind about the white. I'm now going a very special silver.

Tip I was given from Ash and Jeff, just wedge the breaker bar against the frame/floor, remove fuel pump fuse, and slick the starter on. Bolt is now loose. You could try chocking the rear wheels and put in 5th gear but depends how seized the bolt is Removing the starter is the sure way to remove the pulley, but can require the exhaust off and it just makes it a big job needing to be jacked up etc. Take your pick of method

And most certainly don't have the surface quality required. Having utilised one quite a bit, you can never ever get a smooth surface, due to the nature of the technique, it always has lines from the layers built up and the nozzle applying the polymer. Oh and it becomes very pliable at hotish temperatures, such as in a car on a hot day and may even melt. Even sanding it, the friction can generate enough heat to melt the stuff.

Ultra Red Build Thread
It must have done, I don't think it would work without as there would be too much slack to shift. The (i think) m8 bolt that goes through the bottom of the shifter assembly goes through a sleeved hole in the base of the shifter, surrounded by some nylon bushing and enclosed by a pipe section. And the central balljoint without the plastic bushing would just knock around. Can you provide any pictures of what you mean? I don't know if i'm making and sense  And sorry I can't find the rest of your plans. Radiator out for replacing belts/cambelt or what? hmm
