  1. Stay well away from that one on eBay. Rust all along one wheel arch, the gearbox is shot making a crunch every gearchsnge, and the vibration. You will have no end of problems with that car. To put it in perspective, you saying "too cheap", it for for sale for £1500 not too long ago!
  2. To put it straight, 6k won't get you a mint TT manual.youll get an okay condition one which should be rust free knock on wood. From my experience, you really will want one that's well looked after and it should be reliable. When people cut corners is generally when problems arise. Engine out for turbo replacements, not much else you needit out for. The engines can be a pain to work on as space for hands to reach things wasn't on their priority list :tt2: In my opinion just find a nice one, make sure it has no rust and the engine and everything works perfectly. Not the best idea to daily drive though. But if you want one, go for it :)
  3. Well you did ask a serious question [emoji23]
  4. Not all but most NAs did. I do have a non abs zed but not really seen another zed without one! Someone will know but there were a few variations of abs and bmcs
  5. Oops sorry Pete got a little carried away :innocent:
  6. I'm not one for deleting safety things just for the sake of deleting things, but does the abs unit provide a massive effect? Would you see a massive change switching to a non abs setup for a shorter routing or would it not be worth the trade-off?
  7. To continue the discussion, what would be the factor in making the brakes feel like new car's brakes, less soft and don't require you to stand on them to let you know their there. Would it be BMC? The lines? Or just simply the calipers themselves?
  8. Couple kilometers south, called Brittas bay I believe.
  9. Funny how that is, family and I are in Ireland for a week. You could come my place in Wales at the end of the week if things work out.
  10. Bad news mate, must be quite the burden to have. Still happy to come remove the gearbox or whatever last push to get rid of the thing :)
  11. Is there any play in the centre bearing?
  12. A recovery service will likely come and fill up the clutch fluid. A flatbed tends to be for when they can't do a roadside repair
  13. It doesnt matter what the amount is really, but its the hassle to get out a credit card or paypal details, when they don't have any idea of the quality of the club's information, havent interacted with the members and see how (hopefully) welcoming we are. My point is without knowing wahts the club they might just go elsewhere to facebook, which has a community and no fees or whatever. I think the best solution is to just have a question in the account registration "what year was the z32 first sold" (1989) or something similar, which is common information and easily googled but something which would probably deter a spammer. Thats my two cents anyway :)
  14. I think upcoming events will be a big one. Featured picture (like the old gallery feature) or maybe featured build thread. Any good cars for sale at the moment.
  15. If it's just for a clean. Don't, the clips often break even doing the correct procedure.
  16. Its really just trial and error. Set it at the low setting, test it and up the set accordingly. Gain should be between 10-50% in my experience, too high and the boost will spike, too low and it will fall off at high rpm. Play with the set gain once you're happy with the boost output, it is the bar/psi value that the solenoid will start to open, to reduce lag. So if you have it set at 10 psi then it will spool faster than if it opens from 3psi. Looks like Kirbz had his set in bar.
  17. Interesting. Good spot. Could parts be moved over from his old engine do you know?
  18. Hi dude. Bit of a predicament here ay. The shop is being less than helpful and I would have suggested to go elsewhere if you didnt have money tied with them. So yes, it's a later spec engine with late style fuel injectors but there aren't really any major changes. You are correct the oil pan is the same and it does look correct. The engine number is on the back of the engine on the right side.
  19. You have a review limit of 2.4k so would be verrry difficult too. I'm going to say don't do it.
  20. Braided line, about £35 made to size. Easy peasy.
  21. I don't think it's butynol as that never sets. The lights I looked at the sealant was all hard.
  22. Well it's the same 12v. So if it's a high resistance then it would be a low current hence v=ir. And power is current times voltage, so if current is low and voltage the same, then power is low. I did do a level physics :D
