  1. what, green stones or pebbles?
  2. right. lets keep things simple! the larger volume of air between the turbo & the engine, the more lag you will have. (lag being defined as the amount of time to generate positive boost) FMIC's generally have a larger volume of air than SMIC's FMIC's are generally not needed until 600+bhp (many dyno charts in the US to prove this) ok?
  3. LMAO  i give up!!
  4. ok, imagine youve got a 3000 litre tank AFTER the turbo, how long do you think it will take to achive 1 bar?!?! ;) oh, & WTF is the "primary compression stage"???? :D
  5. LOL!! you canee change the laws of physics cap'n!! increase in volume = increase in air to compress before boost pressures occour.
  6. now that is an ambiguous statement!! any increase in intercooler volume will give increased lag.
  7. side repeaters must be fitted unless wrap round front lamps are fitted which are visable from the side! HTH :)
  8. T'Internet :D no, i cant wait!!
  9. :nana2: :nana2: :nana2: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: just booked it!! cool!!
  10. we've got 2 old stylee beetle convertables that are unregestered here at work, they got offered £50k for the pair a few years back - they turned it down!!!
  11. LOL!!
  12. on turbo engines, cam profiles & valve lift is less of an issue until you want bigger turbos as the air is forced into the cylinder anyway. you can get a far bigger increase in power than you would with just cams on a NA car by increasing boost pressure. induction & exhaust are there to allow the air to flow more freely & the ecu upgrade is to allow for fueling at higher boost & also gives more aggressive ignition timing maps also. if your going bigger turbos then longer duration/higher lift cams are still required!
  13. no worries. obviously, legally you do need a calibrated speedo!!
  14. tell them to read the MOT inspection manual then!! :slap:
  15. speedo & rev counters (or any other gauges for that matter!) are not part of the test. the only things you would still need would be the tell tale lights for the main beam, fog lamp & indicators. you would also need a functioning abs warning lamp. HTH :)
  16. or repair it!! (done mine as a tempory measure only) details on andyp's site.
  17. have you checked for code 34 (det sensor) on a ecu check, maybe starting to mess about. have you changed your fuel recently, do you use Optimax??
  18. any car fitted with a LSD *HAS* to be tested with a tapley meter instead of in the rollers. unless you've got a nice posh plate brake tester like iv got ;) there are loads of places that just chuck them in the rollers however
  19. tho that wont help if its the bearings in the freewheel thats gone ;)
  20. cant smiffy get a RPS one?!?! :D & the zed IS a bargain!!
