I managed to get my car, nostrils, looking fairly nice for the jae. Although I couldn't stay more than the Friday, I managed to get a nice photo of the Z as I was arriving. Here's how nostrils looked on the day...

Well, it was great to meet a few of you at the JAE, it was a shame I couldn't stay Friday night but had a good time. I'm hoping the day went well. Gotta say I hope the traders increased too, was fairly disappointed with the traders turn out. Anyways, it was good to meet you, especially the Irish gaysha.. Lol.. Special thanks to phutumsch for the rear lights, I'll getting work on those immediately.. Great youtube channel too, I'm subscribed.. Hope you all have a great weekend guys and gals.. :punk:

Well, midnight came and I realised it was time to stop.. Got up at 2:30 (I work nights) washed, polished, swirl remover Polish, pre wax glaze and then finally a coat of mcguires gold class carnauba wax.. Realised after that image infact got stainless back boxes so polished those to a fantastic shine.. Finished and fitted the body coloured door plastics although not 100% happy with the finish, but all except the drivers window control panel done. Just got to hoover the inside and give the dash a once over with the dash shine and she's ready for the jae.. Really disappointed that the wheels haven't arrived on time. I ordered them in June and still threy haven't arrived at the shop.. Gutted as I've just finished the gold pinstripe ready for the gold wheels.. Almost disappointed enough to cancel the order.. But, at least my Z is looking fairly Good on the rims it's got.. Just missing the front centre caps which really bugs me.. Well, hope to catch up with as many of you guys as possible tomorrow cos I haven't found a hotel yet and my tent is unobtainable.. Might be a one day thing for me by the looks of things.. See you all tomorrow guys..

Just been to pick up my tents from my mum's and found she's gone away for a fortnight and locked them in her garage! Let's hope there's a hotel room free somewhere nearby or I might only be there on Saturday! Hey tulip, the Irish sense of humour is just one of the reasons I love the Irish lol.. Sounds like it's gonna be a good crack this weekend.. See you there..

Does anyone know if jap spec headlights are a problem for UK mot's? My lights beam points to the right and it's got me thinking my Mot people may have an issue with that as they failed my Mot on another car cos I had an air freshener hanging from the interior mirror once! The car has passed all mot's since 1994 in the UK but just wondering if I'm looking at a headlight change at some point?

What time you leaving for jae on Friday Chris? You're coming from Basildon so I'm assuming you'll take the m1 north yea? I can't leave as early as hoped cos the damn dog wont have a babysitter early enough! So if you're passing me at the right time, maybe we can convoy?

No,the tyres ok. Maybe the wheel is on upside down? Lol... Tyre rotation is pointing the right way, that's the tail end of the arrow.. It goes either side of the rotation with the arrow after the word pointing forwards. Cheers for the heads up though, they ain't cheap!

Spent Sunday afternoon fitting the new gold pinstripe to the Z.. Now she's all ready for the wheels when they arrive on Wednesday! Gonna look stunning!!! Also started to plastic coat and paint the door heater plastic trims and the inner door handle plastics in the body colour.. Should look nice, but having a pig job getting the paint to bond to this plastic! More rubbing down and repainting to be done before the lacquer goes on..

Just a quick Q... Having some clutch issues I think.. Anyone here got good knowledge of these clutches? I've had a few times that I've gone to press the clutch down and it's hard. Softens up again quickly but sometimes feels hard to press down. I drove it at about 45mph in 5th for about a mile and the clutch again felt hard to press. When I recently had the car on the four post ramps, I did notice a small patch of oily substance around the small square hole between the gearbox and Bell housing. Although I don't seem to be losing fluid. It's baffling me more as the clutch was only replaced 2500 miles ago so I'm positive is not just normal wear. Was told it may be losing pressure through the slave cylinder? I'd have thought that would include a loss of fluid though right? Not sure what to check really as I'm unsure if the car has internal or external slave cylinder? Any help would be greatfully received.. ? cheers..

Today was three stage mcguires deep Polish and wax.. Got right through to stage 3, the waxing.. Then the heavens opened! Very stressed! Grrr!!

I was going to say russ, I had an old sd1 rover that kept doing that, it turned out to be a blocked strainer. To look at it was fine but up the tube was clogged with all sorts of crud. Check the strainer. It could also be the transmission cooler on the radiator. It's definitely a problem with the box struggling to supply fluid to the converter.

Just been out and polished the tail pipes today! I always knew they were stainless but couldn't tell through the crud that was on there! No doubt now.. Lol.. Just started doing my own anodising too so once it's perfected I can do some cheaply for you guys if you wantanything done.. I'm just about to anodise my plenum. And no its not a euphemism! ?

Is anyone coming up the m1 from down south? I'm coming to jae from Luton m1 jct11. Leaving on Friday morning and planning to spend Fri/sat there.. If anyone else is coming past me and fancies a convoy, give me a buzz and we can arrange a meeting point.

Is that a good indication that there's a problem with the injector wiring then? Or is it your coil pack connectors? I had a similar thing happen to me when I hit high revs one day, the engine started running like I had lost a cylinder for a few seconds but then just sorted itself out.. Never was too sure what that was

Baz, I might have a buyer interested.. Dont know where you are in the country but a guy who missed out on my other black car gave me his number so I could call him if anyone in the club was selling. What's you're asking price mate? If you're somewhere close enough for him to come I'm sure he'll be interested..

Thanks for that, might have to get a couple incase the HID's blow out sometime. gonna have to upgrade the main beams too cos at the moment they look almost amber in contrast when theyre on.. Haven't checked those bulb types yet but I'm hoping they aren't just as hard to get hold of.. Anyone know what type of bulb they use? I would pull one out but having a lazy day today!

Lookin good baz. That's a sweet looking zed right there mate.. Think I'm gonna have to find a new house soon. One with a garage so I can work on my zed when she needs it, which fortunately isn't yet.. Got to get an oil change done soon as it's looking a little dirty, still clear enough to see through but i do like to see that golden colour on the dip stick.. What rims you got on the zed now then mate? I'd love to see her running the rims im waiting for at the moment.. She would look great in those shoes... Are you going to jae?

Well, as it was hot and sunny today I decided to do something on the Z. First things first, a good wash down and dry with a microfibre. Then out with the mcguires fine finishing Polish. A sweaty hour later she gleaming again but need to Polish the exhausts tips tomorrow. The inevitable happened yesterday and a headlight bulb blew so I spent an hour trying to get the bulb out and went to the local car spare shop and was told the bulb was a jap spec bulb and I couldn't get one as they never seen one before? So after research I decided to fit the HID kit I had in the shed.. After struggling to find a space under the bonnet for the ballasts they finally were fitted... The result..... I can now see the road at night! Only thing I noticed is that the beam is facing to the right? Not sure if that's correct but hey I can see, I'm not bothered if the oncoming traffic can lol.. Gonna pay a trip to the zcentre and go see automodz at the same time to get her checked over.. I have a small running issue I think and want the clutch checked as it feels like it's slipping in 2nd under load? Checked under the bell housing and have a little wet patch under there.. Don't think it's clutch fluid as the reservoir still full. ????

Hey fellow Zr's I'm trying to raise some funds to replace my ageing tail lights with some shiny new afterburners, so I'm selling some bits and pieces that I have in my garage. Theres a set of HID headlights with ballasts, a brand new alloy and silicone kit, a silicone hose kit from sfs, a turbo nos stage 1 chip for auto Z32s and a full set of front and rear adjustable camber arms which are brand new in sealed bags.. I need to get decent money for these so avoiding ebay for now. You guys know what they're worth so if u want to save a few quid, make me a sensible offer.. I'll be at the jae in September so I can bring them there rather than paying for postage if ur going.. Anyway, if ur interested, give me a shout.. Cheers Paul (NemesizX)
