  1. Been thinking:scared: [ever so quite @ work!] I have twin pops and i relise i need to block up one side to carry out the check but any hints on what i could use. I have just come in from the warehouse where i cut out a circle of mdf, but looking at it now, here on my desk not sure this would actually work. Cant wait for work to pick up cause all i am thinking about is this car and how to go about sorting it out:wacko:
  2. By doing what i done with the speaker does it make sense though....would this cause the problem i have? i cannot see it myself, but all ok before this happened! May have to call in an expert because this is above me, i can methodically disconnect every thing one by one but wouldn't no where to start if i found the fault to rectify it:confused1: Happy days......i might go back to looking at the blowing fault i still have may be easier:whistling: at least i know how to remove the engine etc and its onl nuts and bolts!
  3. Not played with anything mate, only with the idea of torching it:glare: Na only kidding. Thought it would poss be a boost leak, and so emptied both my garages last night to see if i could find my detector..............and i did:clap: but this was 10.30pm and could not be arsed to try finding the leak!
  4. Stu thanks again for your help. I still think it only happened when i pulled the speaker out of the box to get to screws to remove it. [had no problems previously] There was a little smoke from underneath the speaker, [not from speaker assumed it was where the wires were trapped under the speaker]and then all went dead!! The only things not working are interior light stereo aerial stuck up [to do with radio i guess] and centre console clock. Rear was/wipe works folding mirrors never worked. When i try to fit a fuse i can hear something in the door power up just before the fuse blows!!
  5. John you can have mine mate, looks like i wont be going now!
  6. Well just disconnected the main power supply to the ice system big bugger to, and still blew fuse................................i am now out of fuses 12 in all i have tried, threw process of elimination:cursing: I did a search and plenty of members have had the same problem, but no one posted the net result of there ongoing situation :confused1::confused1:
  7. This is still happening:angry: Disconnected amps and tried to fit new fuse, as soon as i press the fuse into the fuse box it blows:angry: The fuse is for "room lamp" "auto door lock" any other thoughts guys??

  10. Replaced "o" rings with new ones not blowing now and also plugged in air con idle plug and even better:yes: [was told to leave unplugged due to leaving air con off engine] Just need to sort blowing fuse on ice and a good clean ready for japfest. Failed mot on wiper blade and headlamp to low:clap: So 12 months ticket on her now:scooter: Dave

  16. Been thinking could this be something as simple as a hose flattened/caught where engine has been placed onto it in the engine bay? Did look at the pipes when i first found steering had failed but all look ok....tight but ok!
