  1. Came to find this thread and see if my old girl was being looked after..pleased to see she is! I miss her every day and I regret selling the car, but I had to in order to buy a PS13 which I found easier to drift (I loved this car and was too stubborn to admit it struggled!) If you ever have any questions about it don't hesitate to contact me (natalie.younger@Hotmail.com) please love her..I regret ever letting the car go, if you ever find yourself wanting to sell her I beg that you contact me first and give me a chance to have her back so I can keep her as my daily. Otherwise, enjoy her James :)
  2. I gave it a few circles in the snow once, and a donut session outside my unit... hardly hammering it :glare: I'll never understand people who bitch about others but won't say it to their face.
  3. Feel free to add me on Facebook if you're on to discuss- my name is Natalie Younger
  4. Awesome, I will definately consider buying it for later use- would like to know what the bearings are like on it really and whether it's lumpy or run ragged? Keep me in mind when you take it out, if it's in good nick I will 99.999% be interested
  5. Hiya Tonnie, Congrats on the Zed :) Should definately meet up at some point, is it TT or NA? I'm not sure I want to dive straight in with the diff..I want to actually learn to handle the car first- if you aren't in a hurry to do it I potentially might be looking to do it in a few months time after i've had time with it out on a track by myself, got a few issues with it to fix as well before I can start getting stuck in, happy to chat about it though
  6. I would say the fronts that were on mine were 35%, far too dark. Subtle is nice, I just like having the fresh clean look now they are off as you can see the interior better
  7. It's in the place where the detailing company i'm taking her to this weeked is based They have loads more around the wall- she's getting a wet sand polish and wax I'll be getting some artsy fartsy pics of the finished results I'll post them up :)
  8. Previous owner had really dark front window tints on mine- ripped them off last night and it looks so fresh and better for it. I think front window tints just look chavvy and they don't compliment the lines of a Zed Plus you can now see the hard work gone into the red interior, don't know why wanted to hide it! I'll get a before and after pic tonight if I can find a clear one of before
  9. I definately think that's the issue, the ratio seems very close to KM-MPH, I've got an app on my phone i'll watch what it says at 30, 40, 60 etc. tomorrow
  10. I've got my sat nav set-up for that at least now, just need to work out what's going on with it
  11. It's definately nowhere near 300. I would say 210-220 at a rough guess Still worried about this speedo though :( I don't really drive stupidly over limits but need to sort it for local 30mph cameras
  12. Might need to talk to you about this then..:S
  13. Haha, nice one! I'll be selling it for £20 plus postage.. yours if you want it ;)
  14. Just a small update from today- tackled some of the things that were not to my taste- Removed the white carbon wrapping from the pillars and roof panels, wasn't the best job and were very grubby. The last owner had wrapped the driver pillar in black carbon (which i've left as it looks good) and left the passenger pillar standard gloss black, and then wrapped both in white as well as the roof panel frame. It looks like he's damaged the passenger roof panel as i've ripped the white carbon off and the panel is blue underneath..so going to get that sprayed white and the passenger pillar in black carbon so everything matches and my OCD can be appeased Removed the cardboard ferrari centre caps on the wheels (because..it's not a Ferrari..) Replaced the 'Ferrari' lights with 99' spec ones all polished up and shiny Few things to fix, speedo is massively out, got a feeling it's still in KM. Passenger seal is still an issue as letting in rain..but seems like the window is actually bending out of place and pushing it out so need to get that checked out. The steering has had a few moments of being fairly heavy most of the drive then suddenly becoming very very loose but hasn't affected the actual steering ability of the car. Will need to look into this one I think. She's getting there!
  15. Can I be really really cheeky and ask if anyone is on Facebook they could spare 5 minutes to have a look through my photography and supprt the page if they like what they see? Expect some proper pictures of Zed soon :) It's mostly drifting events (full BDC coverage), Car shows (Jpfest, JAE, Trax) and static local car shoots (if anyone local wants a shoot feel free to message me!) https://www.facebook.com/CoconatMedia
  16. Can't have too much of a good thing around ;)
  17. Without getting soppy, just wanted to say i'm completely floored by how helpful and generous Zed owners are, felling really glad to be part of this family
  18. Cheers :) I was lucky enough to catch Matt sliding about at BDC Round 1- Going to try and catch him at Japfest for a good chat about all things 300zx drifting, appreciate the nod though helps to find these things in a bit of niche scene
  19. Fantastic link Z32bolt, it's given me a whole heap of ideas :)
  20. Cheers all, looking forward to getting more active on the forum, as I said I've admired these cars for some time..never thought one would be in my reach and budget so easily so feeling quite chuffed to have snapped one up
  21. Hello amigos, some of you might have spotted my earlier thread asking for some history about this Zed, after some digging and viewing I decided to buy her :) My name is Natalie, i'm from Blyth near Newcastle in the NE of England, I drove a Honda Integra DC5 as my daily but i've been after a RWD summer fun car for a while, this lovely lady came along and I was smitten She was a trade-in to JM Imports, got her for an absolute bargain. Drove her straight to get new tyres on the front as they were badly needed and going to book her MOT next week, She is NA manual with a remap, BC suspension As far as I can tell she is somewhat well known and might have been spotted at Japfest etc. No dis-respect to her previous owner but there are some major changes I am making to get her to how I want her. I'm going to remove the sound system entirely (sorry..I appreciate hard work has gone into this but I really do not like them..not for me and can think of better things to use the money for), strip out the rear seats and get harnesses in, bought 99 spec rear lights and will be putting them in shortly as well as a smooth nose panel. Also may eventually swap the wheels for plain black spoke or chrome alloys. I also should point out she will eventually be taken to Teesside and surrounding areas for drifting. I was told by a few members that this would not go down well..but I am very opinionated on cars- there will always be someone who doesn't like what you do with your own, but it's your car to do with as you please. She has 89k on the clock, I suspect this is in KM, it's time this little lady got out and saw some of the world :) She's immaculate underneath, drives like an absolute dream, no bumps or noises. Needs new passenger door seal, paint and trim has not been well looked after (she's a respray from silver) so will be giving her a fill polish and wax next weekend. Also got a high level wing coming next month to go on. I love BGW I'm absolutely over the moon today and so so happy to finally be a Zed owner :D Praying tomorrow is sunny and warm so I can get the roof panels off and go for a nice long drive. Onto the pictures, apologies they are such bad quality I will get a proper shoot of her with my DSLR once she's tidied up:
  22. Yes please! Kinda curious why people are talking about it haha https://www.facebook.com/nat.younger
  23. Thank you Bird! Really appreciate that link lovely to read back on it's history
  24. Some good news! After trying about 15 companies Admiral quoted me £859 fully comp, mirrored my NCB from my DC5 with another company weirdly, it's not cheap but it's in my budget..think i'll be a 300zx owner soon ;) watch this space!
  25. Sadly this will have to wait for a year..noone will quote me for a RWD car above 2l with that much BHP as my only experience is driving my DC5, what a damn shame..i'll be back in a year :(
