Oh and they were different engines from the 1.9's as well I think. 1.9 = XU9j2 (or j4 for a 16v) 2.1 SRi = XU10j2

As far as I remember they were actually 2.1ltr 8 valvers with SRi badging, (it's been a while since I worked at Pug tho so I could be getting confused). Never really saw many of them in the workshop, and when we did it was for fairly minor stuff like pads,discs etc. Also I don't remeber ever seeing a late shape (D9) one, so I think they may all have been early (D8) body shells.

I think the import-ance website is under construction or something. From what I can see on gt4oc, most wrc's are about 6-7k. Have you thought about a slightly older st185 Carlos Sainz or something similar?

As far as I can remember (and it's been a little while mind you) Speeding isn't actually mentioned in the road traffic act, and upon quickly glancing through it I can't see it mentioned anywhere. Also the caution is "I am arresting you under suspicion of ******, you do not have to say anything however it may harm your defence if you do not metion when questioned, something you later rely on in court anything you do say may given in evidence" It pretty much says that you don't have to say anything, but you not saying anything may be looked upon badly in court.
