  1. Mine arrived yesterday Friday after royal mail lost the first one. Looks like a good fiting panel, so hopefully get it welded on this week. Think Steve and myself was getting close to loosing it as it hadn't arrived by courier at 3 on Friday. Steve was told it was delivered and some unknown person had signed for it at my address and considering I was the only one here, this was looking bad. Then about 345 the courier arrived with the part, so a big relief to us both. Great communication and identical panel to that I got of one trader.
  2. Im waiting to see what they are doing as they are blaming the sub contractor on the other side for not getting to the docks on time, even though I believe the parts weren't very far the docks to transport them. bloody disgrace when two mechanics are geared up and waiting for parts to do the conversion this weekend.
  3. As some of you know I bought a manual conversion from a forum member here and arranged a local courier ( quite a big outfit) to lift it under a 48 hour delivery terms of carriage. Pallet was lifted on Wednesday morning for delivery today and they've just emailed me to day the trailer was still in England and they are expecting to get it out to me for delivery on Monday. What a shower of pr--ks. name and shame time BEATTIES FREIGHT NI Ltd. Avoid at all costs ar--ho--s rant over
  4. I c Jefftt. so it looks like the bay ones then if they are all the same . may as well get the lower priced ones. cheers guys
  5. Hi Ciaranz no problem. they are keen to get it done thankfully. will let them know they may have another if the price is right and get us both a good deal
  6. So is the ebay german ones ok to use then. See there is now a uk set available http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-CLEAR-SIDE-LIGHT-REPEATER-INDICATORS-/371000070873?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item566153d2d9 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-SIDE-REPEATER-INDICATORS-CLEAR-/111309472611?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ANissan%7CModel%3A300+ZX&hash=item19ea8fc363 (these ones aren't approved so is that a mot failure) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/White-Side-Indicators-Nissan-300ZX-Raritat-1-Set-/221397489950?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item338c51991e too many to choose from or just get them from the z centre
  7. Where is the best place to get the above as Ive spotted them on the bay but they need modified to suit, so going to give them a miss. Want nice ones but not at rip off prices to match the clear lenses I got for the rears. Cheers
  8. welcome
  9. Hi Ciaranz, My mechanic who works for donnellys is doing it from home as his garage is nearly better then donnellys own workshop. He has a mate who builds rally cars for a living and hes helping him do the conversion. Approx 1-2 days for the both of them as this is their first one. Im hoping one day as does Ian, but better safe than sorry. I've just paid for the parts and arranged the courier to lift them tomorrow and they'll be here in Enniskillen on Friday. So the mechanic is lifting the car tonight so he may keep it and start pulling it to bits to get ready for a good days work at it on Saturday hopefully. Might even have a manual this day next week!!
  10. Ordered a cill repair panel and was posted Wednesday royal mail after paying courier costs and still hasn't arrived!!!!!. Hopefully will arrive tomorrow (Monday) as I've had other items collected and delivered SINCE which was a lot faster!
  11. Sounds like its going to make the difference in day and night. Sorry to the purists but this is defo the way ahead for me.
  12. Cheers Gary. It will make the car I think. Plus then with all this work done, she becomes a keeper and can look forward to a nice easy life with me ( and the heated garage.) Will stick up some photos of her later.
  13. Just don't really like the reving and no control over it. some fuel being pumped through it and going to bit the bullet and get her converted, fix the cill and then I'll have a really nice car, even better than it is now. As you said, Fermanagh men aren't happy unless we are pulling it to bits lol Was reading that particular one and have it printed off for the guy, so just pin 44 issue or change the ecu.
  14. Hi guys, just been reading the different threads on this and the wiring and there is some amount of discussion over the past few years on this never mind which way to adjust the timing after its all done. So as my mechanic is about to do this on my na 96 car, do I need to print off loads of threads about reseting the timing, get the ecu from the doner car, or get the manual loom. Pin 44 seems to be an issue as well as its being connect to the neutral on the manual box then the other bit to earth, some haven't so getting a little confused. God help the guy as this is going to be fun getting her to run and idle correctly. any clarification would be great. Thanks
  15. I got mine on a classic policy as its not my main car through Brady's in Enniskillen. Ive four classics on the one policy for 218 p/a. 5000 miles per vehicle and standard road use. can even have all four on the road at the same time if there was 4 of me (god help the world if there was ) lol.
  16. just ordered mine and on route, so pleased so far with service, great communication. So once fitted I will add some photos too. Thanks again to all for this thread.
  17. welcome to the forum, a 300 meet is looking better now for carryduff, might have too many cars now lol.
  18. Hi Guys, the speedo is working fine so assumed there was another unit for the mileage and trip recorder. Will get it pulled out in the next few evenings
  19. Cheers guys, a nice easy fix
  20. Well guys, I have managed to secure a good deal to get the sill repairs done and have that issue put to bed. Ive noticed driving her that the odometer and trip isn't going up. The previous owner said when he brought it to the mot last Friday morning the speedo stopped working. he turned the car off and restarted it and all ok. It has had a black box fitted behind the clocks for the kmh to mph conversion he said! Is this an easy fix or what's gone on it. Thanks Derek
  21. Hi Ian, Sorry hope I have offended you or Ian jr its Gary I'm annoyed with. Once I confronted him yesterday about it, he admitted that he had got it repaired by an unknown garage repair shop and paid £400 for the repair. He'd thought it was welded but suspected different when he found wire mesh in the car. So I think it was a hole wire meshed and a filer applied over it. Its a cheap repair and is a short term measure. Going to get her up on my mates life and poke at it so see how much falls out. Directly under the cill, they didn't even rub the filer down correctly and its full of pin holes and has an awful edge. Ian please accept my apologises if this has annoyed you. You have been nothing but helpful and a true gentleman and under no circumstances would I say or insinuate anything different. It was well hidden from the side but my eye just caught it yesterday and doing bodywork for 5 years for a very fussy guy, the under side line just looked wrong from the distance, So once I lay down beside her, the gut sank. its not the worst but when your not expecting to see it, its annoying.
  22. Hi Padraig, Welcome to the forum. Hope your enjoying the z. You have a lot of bits to make her very nice. Have you got the spoiler on it yet? Have a look at Gary's link. I think we are all going to make an effort to go up to carryduff, if nothing else to meet each other. Did you get sorted out with brady's.
  23. just have to get a few opinions of how bad it is as I don't intend to put much more money into it. think karma is telling me to avoid z's. anyway I'll decide by next weekend her fate. really didn't want the bodyshop route, missus is fuming, so getting it all now, I hate dishonest people(the guy I bought it off). Think I'll go fix the mr2 and get the throttle bodies cleaned up to be put back on the road and clear the head
  24. going over my new 300z and really admiring it and how clean she was. Noticed a bit of surface rust on the rear cill near the bottom so thought Id get a bit of G3 and clean it off................... then came the gut wrenching sight :scared:........................... filler and loads of it and not even shaped correctly, then I noticed it wasn't even stonechipped on that side before he painted it. Spoke to the guy I bought her off and he insists he paid £400 3 years ago for the repair and the guy told him he had cut out the rust and plated it.. he must have used a bean can if its gone that fast........ great finish to weekend. time to reconsider these cars.....
  25. thanks- hopefully not getting into a handling with it. If its not there, not the end of the world.
