  4. Think I need to upgrade my colour scheme on the property lol.
  5. just trying to upload a few pics.. got it so will get some more up now of her completed bar a few cosmetics like rear end
  6. Looking at changing the exhaust on my 96 na lwb. is this different to the tt one. My own thinking is yes they would be a different diameter or something? but no compatable. was looking about the bay but they are all just state 32 lwb or tt, so cant see a na one?
  7. 10 mm spanner took mine out at the weekend and nothing else and my z is standard
  8. Welcome to the forum. A great place for advice help and knowledge.
  9. pm Jeff. Cant believe this is coming back out...... might leave it to the winter now and get some use from it but I suspect it'll be out in the next few days
  10. as above, anyone got a passenger side surround for sale or they don't want as mines half there and annoying as the rest of the interior is mint. thanks Derek
  11. Hi guys, Got my car back on Thursday after a manual conversion and its great, seems a lot faster. My only issue is when I put my foot on the clutch you can hear the release bearing quite badly spinning. Is this standard on a manual or is the bearing knackered. Hate the thought of having to get the box pulled out again.
  12. That's unfortunate. I don't touch them at all as my mate since school eats breathes and races them as well as a bike mechanic, so he gets mine once a year to look after. Hopefully nothing major.
  13. I haven't had any issues with mine as I put it away for the winter with the brake on and its fine. Saying that, mine is garaged as well but I still have the brake on in case it decides to slip, and my bike is 6 year old.
  14. The only other thing is the first time you go to put the bike up, have someone to help you as it is simple once you get the knack of it. Otherwise you could drop your bike. Its all about getting it in the right place, hold the pillion bar and as quick as you can, get it pulled back ( as in the paddock stand) and to rest on the ground. I also use a thick rubber band {old tube} to hold the front brake on when its up. just another precaution worth doing, but if you do this take the band of the brake before you let it down as the bikes needs to go forward. Yes you don't need the bobbins for a paddock as they will automatically slide up tight to the swing arm.
  15. Most paddock stands have sprung carriers that once slide under the rear swing arm, slide up towards the main axle and will stop at the bolt holes for the bobbins. I've only ever used my rear one for holding it but be sure to keep the side stand down also. This way if it goes to fall you've an additional aid if it goes to the side. If you lock the steering which no doubt you do, it will normally fall inwards to the stand (should it come off). Its never happened to me but its not impossible. The paddock stands are universal but buy a good one. Cheapies don't like windy conditions.
  16. Will do Gary but it wont be to Friday as all the documents are in the car including log book and service history. I never lifted them off the back seat lol Technically he could sell it as he has everything and its not even registered in my name yet!!!

Anyone need a auto box. This one has done 84000 kilometres out of a 96 car and was working great before the conversion. Its sitting on a pallet and my mechanic guy wants to know if I want it or does he scrap it. Hate to think someone on here may need one rather than this good one lying in a scrap pile.
  18. Hi Gary, all being well and just booked it into the body shop for the sill repair as he didn't have time to do it before the conversion but he assures me two days is all it will take :sweatdrop: Feels like I don't own it anymore as everyone has had it longer than me lol. getting him to paint the rear uk bumper I got of Baz on here, as I'm not fussed on the import one with the fog lamp bolted on at the bottom. looks ugly in my opinion. So all being well with the 99 spec lights and rear bumper should look a lot fresher. Just need an exhaust now as its got the standard one on it.
  19. not good, courier dropped the package. hope he's winding you:ohmy:
  20. Cheers guys. I think Jeff, he was feeling guilty for making a few major mistakes and hence he reflected it on costing but wouldn't have been that long in total at it if he'd have stayed at it. First one to do so he has learned a lot. But I'm happy with it and hes put the additional wiring into the loom as much as possible so looks very neat and tidy.
  21. yepee. got a call tonight to say my z is eventually ready and now a manual. He has all done with the conversion, wiring completed, gearbox oil flushed through and refilled, timing belt changed, serviced and brakes stripped cleaned and rebuilt as one was sticking a little. All done for less than £375. He done the timing belt for nothing and the brakes due to the mistake he made and the extra time he has the car. To be fair he then told me to deduct the cost of the servo and postage of this as he broke it. A fair guy in my opinion and he is delivering Thursday evening as that's when im back home.
  22. text replied to.
  23. Hi sorry,I was pm'ing Ciaran about the one hes breaking and he said he has a low milage engine for sale 44000 miles he believed for a twin turbo. He was going to fix up the car but changed his mind. send me a text and Ill forward you on his mobile number. I assume he wont mind. That's really unfortunate as it was going to be a nice car with the bits done to it.
  24. that's not good news for you. Ciaran z has an spare engine for sale for a tt 400 euro he was looking for it and not far from either of us either if that helps.
  25. Funny he's just phoned me there, so was waiting to hear what else is broke, but he was asking me would I sell it, as one of his customers was there and was looking around her on the lift etc and thought it was a good clean one. But told him not for sale. Sorry jeff, pin 44. I downloaded info of forum and various threads about it. Keeping the auto ecu in at the moment so just to earth in out. He reckons Monday now as he has a wedding Saturday.
