  2. Diagnostics matey ;) It's all working on my car now. Just the ashtray to fix but i don't know how the flipping spring is supposed to look :( Still asking for a photo off someone
  3. Yeah i thought that :D
  4. :D You meant to get one too then matey? Yep went to bed at 5am this morning and the postman woke me up at half seven. Strangely said front and back, do not bend in big letters so what happens, she bloody bent the sod trying to get it in the box then gave up and rang the doorbell then shoved it under the door. Took 20 mins to straighten it out :(
  5. Could someone please quickly take me a pic of their ashtray spring? I'm just trying to manufacture one from a piece of springy metal as mine is missing, Cheers, Nick
  6. Use sugar and fairy liquid together, the sugar melts and sticks to the grease but while its abrasive removes all the ground in dirt. Try it it works! No need for swarfega! :D Ingenius tip: Number 2
  7. Okay here's something useful for you all, don't know how many people have experienced this but: a. The mounting for the hazard switch cracks off inside (stupid design) and the switch doesn't sit right and the front hangs off meaning it moves when you push the buttons. (pic a) b. Cut some wrall plugs (however you spell it) as spacers/washers and use extra long screws, not too thick otherwise you'll split it. Tighten them up as shown in pic b c. Check they fit and then mount the switch inside tightening the screws to full tightness, i used a little silver foil inside the holes to add something to bite into. (pic c) d. If you get the size right, the switch will sit perfectly like mine and the front will click in tightly inside making the whole unit secure again. Da da! Hope this helps! :D Ingenius tip: Number 1
  8. Just to say thanks for sending me the dash kit it looks awesome, check it out! Folks he didn't ask for a penny, even when i offered postage to him. This man gets a pint of his choice next time i see him :D Nick
  9. I need to know how to get one of those now!!!! :D
  10. Yeah about 5 miles ;) lol
  11. I think i was pretty lucky with mine, it was just imported after the 60k service, had 105k on the clock but 5 of that was in miles not km, had been professionally converted by Dada Motorsport near leicester, all the fluids were clean as a whistle, there was and still is no rust and no signs of repairs apart from the obvious one on the back and the odd trolley dint but its performed flawlessly and only cost me £3000. NOW, from a perspective of a person who's very picky about cars i would NEVER buy a car that's been even slightly modified even the tinting came out of mine last week. The saleability the zeds faces are: There's alot of imports which are expensive to insure (in my case 1500 quid most people wanted and the only reason i got it insured for 630 is i think I used the registration and the previous owner had lied and said it was a uk car, needless to say when renewel comes up i'm registering the air filter and the jap status) Most of them are modified so the insurance is a nightmare to sort (pretty much every one i see has got an exhaust or air filter etc) and its a huge turn off for the average punter. The first thought that goes through your head when you a maxed out 300zx is "s*** i bet that's been thrashed" compared to a standard one. Nissan dealerships are hideously expensive to get parts from and unless you know about this forum and fleabay it might put you off (my wing mirror was ripped off and nissan wanted 500 + spraying and fitting so i ended up tracking a red one down and re casing it for just over 35 quid) And the supra has more uk examples over here and tends to have more of a market presense as the jap super car, the 300 seems to be for the person who likes the supra idea but wants something more original and unique. These are merely my opinions and most people will have a different view but as a joe public last year myself they're the things that put me off but: the sound the speed the unique interior (who has seat belts on the doors, & all the buttons round the wheel! wow i thought!) the exclusivity of owning one have made me think its a worthwhile purchase and the friendlyness and helpfulness of the club has made it all the better. I've pretty well fallen in love with my zed and the culture but i will try and keep it so that if and when i come to sell her all i have to do is whack the old airbox in, the exhaust back on and the wheels back on so it comes across as an original example rather than modify the crap out of her and do too much damage to her value. All i know is that this is a car i can't sell after 6 months like i usually do and i get bored easily of cars :D Now in terms of value, if you have an original zed, n/a or turbo and hold onto it in that state and look after it you'll probably slow depreciation but i wouldn't hold out for the value increasing. I think the market for the zed has to clean itself up and make itself more a grand tourer image rather than a max power image. I think its down to the owners themselves to make more of a presence known on the roads and get people to stop saying, what is that and start saying wow i want one! :)
