idealy get a member of the club to go with you if you can, check for rust on the sill, rear wheel arch and around the bootlid, (even if it is a jap spec) check the brakes, as these sometimes get neglected and they cost a bit to replace start it from cold, it should idle at aroud 1500rpm for the first few miles of driving and then drop down to about 750rpm leave it on idle for about 5-10 minutes to see if it is smoking, run an ecu check ideally take a member, better still if they have a conzult :)
