  1. I've never really been into ICE, but want to fit a sub to my Z. 10" is fine. My friend has a Pioneer 700 watt 10" sub (300watt nominal) which I might buy. What amp will I need? Not after anything fancy as I don't intend to run anything else off it. I've already replaced the rear speakers and will replace the fronts which I'll just run off the HU with the bass turned right down. The stereo does have a pre-out as well. Any help is appreciated.
  2. It's not that bad. You've just gotta take your time. It's worth getting some heat on the area before easing them off. As for the centre panel, from memory, there are 6 bolts from what I can recall. One at each end, then 2 each end, about 1/4 of the way in. There's also a crappy little pinch clip holding the centre in situ. That'll just need a bit of persuasion. That's it.

I'd like to come to a South Central meet some time. Need my tailgate resprayed before I bring it to any meet though.
  4. Oh yeah, you're going off to Europe aren't you with it?
  5. I know, I was being sarcastic. ;)
  6. LOL...was 'oh dear....it's christmas'...was the thought behind the response! LOL Glad you liked the photos! :)
  7. Christ make your bloody mind up! One minute (litterally) you want to have it repainted. The next you want to sell it!!!
  8. Mat black is awful. There's a gorgeous sky blue that they paint the Alfas in. It has an almost yellowy gold flip in and. Really pleasing to the eye and quite subtle. I think it's called Nuvola blue. If I ever re-spray my Z, it'll be done Nuvola blue.
  9. I've said it before and I'll say it again....GET THAT FOOKIN PLENUM ON!! LOL ;) Looking good bud.
  10. I'm trying to find a company that'll come out to my car and do it on the roadside. Failing that, I'll take it off the road in the winter as I always do and get the rim re-polished then. You can hardly see it, but I'm picky and like things to be as perfect as possible.
  11. That's the wrong answer I'm afraid. That's the first time I've ever scuffed wheels. So the little scuffing will be repaired.
  12. My 8ollocks are shaved smooth thanks, so no way could cause damage to alloy lol. Anyone else?
  13. It's pretty light, but I want to know if there are any companies that can buff out scratches on polished alloy. Well, it'll need a bit more work than that. But I think I read somewhere that there's a few companies that'll come out to your car and carry out light repair work on wheels. Can anyone recommend anyone? Thanks
  14. One in each corner. Subframe has to come off idealy.
  15. Deffinately. I want out of my current job ASAP. Will see how this goes. :)
  16. Any idea how much the upper links are Pete? My Z is running what appears to be stock suspension and there's quite a bit of negative camber for standard.
  17. HICAS arms probably. It's not that noticable as there's only very slight play in the offside one. Bushes and shocks can also do similar things. Jack the car up and do the wheel bearing juggle, but only with hands horizontal on the wheel. Just to check for movement in the arm. I'm replacing all mine. I have a bit of play in the arms and 2 of the bushes are weeping slightly. So over the winter it's having new springs, shocks, bushed and HICAS arms. Should feel quite solid and nice after that. Still can't decided whether to go for Eibach or H&R.
  18. That's because I've not renewed my subscription yet. Must get round to doing that.
  19. I'm going PU in the not too distant future. Let me know how it feels Pete. Be interesting to note the differences. Mine need replacing, so upgrading at the same time. Jimmer and Yami are doing mine. Jimmer's got a press to push them back in.
  20. Cool! Cheers Danny. I know the area is expensive...which is something unfortunate. But then again, I did used to have a place up in Great Malvern and that was pretty pricey too. Anyway, it's just an iron in the fire at the moment so to speak. Just wondering who from this forum lives in the area. Ted, wasn't it you who saw me in WSM a few months ago?
  21. Think you're getting confused with a Cat test and an emissions test bud.
  22. Has he also said he'll pay for fitment?
  23. £2,000?? Bloody hell! No wonder the engine let go.
  24. LAST WEEK WAS MY BIRTHDAY AND I DIDN'T FEEL VERY WELL WAKING UP THAT MORNING. I WENT DOWNSTAIRS FOR BREAKFAST HOPING MY WIFE WOULD BE PLEASANT AND SAY, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!", AND POSSIBLY HAVE A PRESENT FOR ME. AS IT TURNED OUT, SHE BARELY SAID GOOD MORNING, LET ALONE "HAPPY BIRTHDAY." I THOUGHT... WELL, THAT'S MARRIAGE FOR YOU, BUT THE KIDS WILL REMEMBER. MY KIDS CAME INTO BREAKFAST AND DIDN'T SAY A WORD. SO WHEN I LEFT FOR THE OFFICE, I WAS FEELING PRETTY LOW AND SOMEWHAT DESPONDENT. AS I WALKED INTO MY OFFICE, MY SECRETARY JANE SAID, "GOOD MORNING, BOSS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" IT FELT A LITTLE BETTER THAT AT LEAST SOMEONE HAD REMEMBERED. I WORKED UNTIL ONE O'CLOCK AND THEN JANE KNOCKED ON MY DOOR AND SAID, "YOU KNOW, IT'S SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY OUTSIDE, AND IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, LET'S GO OUT TO LUNCH, JUST YOU AND ME." I SAID, "THANKS JANE, THAT'S THE GREATEST THING I'VE HEARD ALL DAY. LET'S GO!" WE WENT TO LUNCH. BUT WE DIDN'T GO WHERE WE NORMALLY WOULD GO. WE DINED INSTEAD AT A LITTLE PLACE WITH A PRIVATE TABLE. WE HAD TWO MARTINIS EACH AND I ENJOYED THE MEAL TREMENDOUSLY ON THE WAY BACK TO THE OFFICE, JANE SAID, "YOU KNOW, IT'S SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY... WE DON'T NEED TO GO BACK TO THE OFFICE, DO WE?" I RESPONDED, "I GUESS NOT. WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN MIND?" SHE SAID, "LET'S GO TO MY APARTMENT." AFTER ARRIVING AT HER APARTMENT JANE TURNED TO ME AND SAID, "BOSS, IF YOU DON'T MIND, I'M GOING TO STEP INTO THE BEDROOM FOR A MOMENT. I'LL BE RIGHT BACK." "OK." I NERVOUSLY REPLIED. SHE WENT INTO THE BEDROOM AND, AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, SHE CAME OUT CARRYING A HUGE BIRTHDAY CAKE... FOLLOWED BY MY WIFE, KIDS, AND DOZENS OF MY FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS, ALL SINGING "HAPPY BIRTHDAY". AND I JUST SAT THERE... ON THE COUCH... NAKED. :smash:
