Zeds and cold/wet weather
Won't drive my Z on the roads at this time of the year. Pure and simple.

Anyone padded their doors out with dynamat?
Not the motor linkage but the runners. There's a nut that comes loose. Have a search through, I'm sure there's plenty on it. :)

Window linkage by the sounds of it.

Sounds like nice tasteful plans there Nick. :duffer:

I'm not a fan of Minis generally. Although I have driven them and they are the closest thing to a street legal go-kart. Bags of fun to be honest. I just prefer bit tarts cars like the Z...hehe Yeah I saw that. Crazy thing that is.

VOTE FOR MY WHEELS: The final choices before they go off
Good quality split rims tend to polish up well. Do you want the details of the guy that did mine? He's up in Notts, so not a million miles from you.

Option 3....no question about it. Much cleaner more slick appearance. Very nice rims Nick. Personally, wouldnt bother lacquering the polished metal. Because the surface won't be keyed, the lacquer will not bond to the metalwork. You'll get very very very small areas of moisture under them and eventually the lacquer will life and you'll be left with corrosion trails. Best off having a wipe-clean - area to polish rather than a water trap.

Here we go...found it. http://www.ringmini.de/English_Version/My_Minis/Pick_Up/Pick_Up_Build_up/pick_up_build_up.html Some pics... If anyone's interested, a friend of mine made a front engined V6 Mini Estate...it originally had a 2.0 16v Vauxhall engine (hence the wording on the screen) Vauxhall 2.5 V6 engine.

The only Mini pickup that EVER got my mouth watering was the german Mini with the honda CRV 4wd system and a VTEC engine under the bonnet. The chap used to race it round the Nurburgring and hand supercars' asses to them on a plate.

I want an El Camino
Red one is sweet. Needs some larger wheels (radius I mean)...like the yellow one and the chrome strip around the rear window needs painting black. Other than that, ubber cool.

I want an El Camino
Yeah I've seen all those. I live in US ebay. hehe Not so keen on the SS (Choo choo) version as I don't like the revised front end as much as the old-skool style lesser models. Pretty cool bit of kit never the less.

When you mean inner skin, do you mean the frame?

Anyone padded their doors out with dynamat?
Sounds spot on that does. When I have the time, all the interior's coming out of mine for soundproofing and waxoiling. Will do that in the summer. Bad idea wax oiling in the winter as the fluid never 'creeps' very well when it's cold/cool.

Exactly. Dry states are always the best for tin work. Unfortunately, they suffer from paint bleaching/burning. But that's not a problem if you just want a good base to start from.

You're in Leicester. Trying calling a company called S.B.A That's the company I used to work for. They had an office in the SW. But have since centralised everything from their base in Leicester. Anyway, they should still sell the stuff in various thicknesses and sizes.

Yeah that looks like neoprene. I used to sell the stuff into industry. Could get sticky sided stuff too.

I want an El Camino
A few come over. There's a few on ebay I think, although I think they are 70s versions. Best off importing from California or Texas. Find any old one, ship it back. Most came with A/C, some with electric windows.

Sexiest rims for the C4 bar none IMHO. Unsure of the kit, but looks a nice example.

You mean neoprene?

Kinda.....although undecided. Don't dislike it....but just not made my mind up. Think I'd go for the late spec C4 rims...

Buying a private plate
I think because you're transfering it to your vehicle, you have to pay. If not, that's something you need to arrange with this bloke you're buying the plate from. Best off paying via CC as you can claim back if anything goes wrong. >.....or are you talking about paying the cost of the plate? eeeek...not sure...

Anyone padded their doors out with dynamat?
No, mine doesn't rattle. It's the noise of the skin. Just needs some sound deadening on it to break up the sound.
